…Been cutting swatches of good leather off junked Qs with the hope to one day reupholster the seat. I took the cover off an old armrest and shipped it along with some OEM gray leather to my brother in-law. He happens to be a pretty talented upholsterer. He's going to redo the armrest cover and add a pocket to the underside. Will post pics here once I get it.

I’m also toying with the idea of cutting a slot into the front of the armrest and installing some kind of pop-out single cup-holder. It would have be small and narrow to fit into the metal shown in the last pic below. If anyone knows which car may have such a unit, I’ll be running to the junkyards. Sorry bout the low res but u know how it goes with the cellies.

…Drew…

Seat with back removed… this is how you’d remove the armrest.

Armrest with cushioning stripped away showing chassis.

Do I have another JDM only option????When open, mine has a bin in the center console, which has built in cup holders, the height control switch for the active, and the rear curtain open/close switch.

When closed, it's just a normal leather covered, padded armrest....

(Not the best photo, but it's all I have on hand ATM)

Okay the new cover came from my brother in law today. He did a good job but he seem to have used a different type of leather for the pen/letter holder. Not sure why as I sent more than enuf but beggars can't be choosers. Besides, it's on the underside of the armrest.

Here's what it replaced... YUCK, I feel like a cancer was surgically removed when I got rid of that thing.

New cover .....

Underneath....

Obligatory shots of the beast. Notice no more chrome trim. Lowering to come soon. Have CC springs still in box.

HMMM... Might be too long for the Q armrest. The armrest axle will stop it short plus it needs to be recessed at the front where the release button would be. I'm thinking more of a single cup. I'll see if I can view one at the junkyard...that way I can measure it.

Nice work! Do you find yourself rubbing it all the time now I do like your car more without the chrome

It does feel good. A lot better than the crack that I got rid of. The other day I was riding with my daughter and she kept pushing my forearm off with hers.

My drivers seat back bolster is now ripped and the cracks in the seat bottom are starting to open up. I really want to get my hands on some grey cushions from a passenger seat.

The pen holder is nice. My center console is full of writing utensils, along with my map pockets. I think I have 20 or 30 pens total in my Q.

Maybe I need to clean my car.

Same here. I wish I knew why they all seem to disappear when I try to use the drive-thru bank window, though...
