Wes gave me his but I want more people's feedback on what would look better... Please let me know which one I should do.

The first one looks normal but doesn't look good when you look down on the car because of the curvature of the headlights. As seen in this pic...

The second one was based off of a sketch my uncle/body guy drew after I presented him with my problem (and a pic of a G50 President).

Note that these are only photochops and will look cleaner than what you see.

Why is this double posted.... You got honest opinions before.

It looks like a waste of time and effort. Your super uncle is goint to have to weld new sheet metal to your fender and bondo and so on...

It's not.

Thanks for your discouraging input. I will pay it no attention.

You asked for input, then didn't like the input you got? Ask a tough question, expect a tough answer. You can't ask for input, then slam the person who points out a glaringly obvious fact. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. What would look better is the OEM headlights. Just personal opinion, but what does it really matter? If you like it, who cares what anybody else thinks?

I was asking which drawing looked better NOT if the mod was worth it or if it looked good as a whole.

no doubt, number one.

The slight miss fit will go away in your mind over time as you experience the greater lighting power and effect of the bimmer's white light. I have a 540 with these lights and driving on back roads at night is nothing short of amazing.

No one but you and us nico nuts will know the difference as you look at the car in daylight---laugh!!!

Someone in Harrisburg Pa is doing this too--is that you? I'd love to see it in person if you ever get to over to the KofP area.

Its too bad really... I'd think people would be a bit more constructive and supportive of people who want to mod the Q a little bit. Instead, whenever a thread like this comes along, we seem to get a lot of posts that have a confrontational tone to them.

Back to the headlights... I just noticed... the new clear headlights make the fog lights look kind of lame and out of date. Do you have a plan to bring those guys up to date as well?

My plan is, once I get the Aimgain kit imported and installed, to also buy the fog lights that go with the kit. They have clear lenses and look great along side clear headlights.

Maybe we need to be smoking what you are smoking?

It will take a real metal crafstman to make it correctly, and even then the electro plating will be gone.

So can we change the title of the post to.. "I need honest opinions unless you have constructive criticism, then I am going to cry like a little girl and hide."

I support any person who mods the q but if you ask for an HONEST opinion then you will recieve.

I totally agree..... However, your post was "It looks like a waste of time and effort".. he didnt ask if you liked the setup and if it was a "wasted effort", he asked if you liked option A or option B!

I totally dig where you're coming from, however my point is that you dont really KNOW if it was a wasted time/effort because the project isnt FINISHED yet, still in the works.. Once its done and if you think it sucks, then by all means, make that as clear as you wish...

I was just saying I disliked a and b pics. Isn't it possible to clean the lenses up and retro fit it in the headlamp assembly? I was saying it was a waste of time because of the route he choose with the modifing of the fenders and such.

if youre saying to "clear" the stock lenses, i have seen that done however its probably more "ghetto" then this is! I saw it on an HID forum, where a guy who had (I think) a mazda MX-6 took his stock glass headlight lenses, cut the face of the lens out and covered it with plexiglass and trimmed it up..... Came out really clean looking...

Personally, if I were to do anything id have holes cut in the stock glass lenses and slide a HID projector right into the lens... would make it look like the car has eyeballs, sorta like a BMW.

Check out this thread. I think that these lights have a better side marker/turn signal profile that better integrates (both in stock fitment as well as body panel side profile. Even then they are still (to my eye) noticably "off".

Ignore all the d!ck attitudes, I for one, admire your ambition! Remember it's a free country (at least for now) and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't care for those "broken suspension looking" lowered Y33s. But if that makes someone happy, well it's not hurting me any so who cares?

He also had his done at a professional body shop and that is a picture of it completely done with fender work and all. Mine will look very similar when complete.
