Hello everyone,

A recent issue with my car has me stumped and I'm here for any insight into what it might be. Not too long ago my car started limiting the RPMs to 5500 rpm at most and at one point it was limited to 3500 rpm. I have a feeling its related to VVEL as that is what 3500 rpm limp mode points to. But I have no idea what 5500 rpm lock indicates. Has anyone else experienced this issue? There is no speed limiter and no power loss up until the 5500 rpm which it then shifts into next gear even if in manual mode.

You're not likely to diagnose a problem like that without reading the ECM and TCM codes.
