G37S Exhaust Noise

My G37S sounds like tin vibrating from the exhaust. i took it back to the dealership and they heard it but they told me that the exhaust goes directly into the engine manifold and thats the sound of the car when its cold. it does go away when i drive it after 2 min or so but its annoying to hear when the engine starts up. anyone else have this noise or is it just me?

This was discussed on the old G37 forum. Basically the G37 sounds like a tin roof coming apart in a high wind upon cold start and especially bad when started inside an enclosed space. I pull mine out of the garage and then let it warm up for a minute of two.

sorry i did not see that posting, its been a while since i been back to the forum. so this noise is normal? there is no way to stop it huh?

A friends of mine has the same problem w/ his G37S. I looked at it one day, and the noise is coming from the muffler. It sounds to me like one of the baffels has a broken weld, and after it warms up some the metal expands and it stops rattling.

Sounds like an aftermarket CAT-Back should be used

If its the mufflers take it back to the dealership to have it replaced for free. common problem with the G37. I had mine replaced back when I had stock exhaust.

just took mine to dealer. ordered a new muffler, due to probable broken weld in baffles. He said there is a sevice bulletin on this problem. Mi rattle doesn't go away completely even when warmed up.

do you know where i might be able to find this service bulliten? and any ideas on what i should tell the dealership on replacing this exhaust cuz they keep telling me that its engine noise thats coming out of the exhaust now and he won't change is cuz supposedly, thats a normal sound. thnx
