Hi everyone. I am usually on the maxima part of the board but I am looking at getting a G37 convertible. Now I want to Force Induce this car but I have heard both that its ok and its NOT ok to do this with the 7at. I know with the 7at I would have to get the transmission cooler and probably a valve body mod. I just want to know if its going to hold up well. I know some will say get the 6mt but the wife needs to be able to drive this as well. I'm still trying to convince her to let me get the 6 speed.

I would say if you're thinking of FI, you need to get the 6mt.

the 7spd transmission will hold up to more power, but a cooler would be good option.
Though a manual is always best

Dave, tell her I said it was OK and she will love it.

You two should easily have no issue with buying one as your weekend toy. Tell wifie you deserve it

I don't know if there is a Valve Body mod available for the 7AT yet, but you will need one if you go FI. Also, transmission cooler is a must for FI.

Valve body upgrade and trans cooler will help greatly. The 7AT will be fine as long as you don't beat on it every chance you get ;) .
