Hello!

Finally it happened to me, I got problems with my '09 G37 vert. Prior posting this here, I searched for an answer all around the internet, Infiniti bulletins, almost everywhere! I went to an independent Nissan/Infiniti mechanic here in Los Angeles, he wasn't sure about what is going on neither, he only looked into the mechanism inside and said "might need to hardwire". Clueless. :gotme

So to illustrate the issue, I'd shot a video in my garage yesterday:

So far the vert stills functional, it is opening and closing the roof with no further problems, which is a surprise for me.

However, there's two inner flippers/flaps that go inside of the trunk when the roof is closed and turns in part of the exterior car body when the roof is open.

The left flap is holding tight in the position, the right flap is not.
So when I close the trunk, the flap is hanging, sometimes just half way, other times all the way down.

I have NO IDEA what makes it hold properly, no idea of price, where, how and what to do. Infiniti calls this piece "flap" or "flipper" and I found no reference to it anywhere else.

Car is '09, I'm not the first owner and I used the open roof dozens of times before this happened, so if someone had this problem before, or for some reason knows what is going on, it will be much appreciated. Thank you very much, fellas!

I am having the same issue but it is preventing my top from operating. The operation gets to the point where the trunk is opening up but then you can see that the flap is hanging down and it will not go any further. You can hear the motor trying to continue but it is like something is slipping because the flap is not in the correct position. Luckily, it will still go back to the closed position. Have you found a solution yet??

Same issue here. Anybody find a solution, or a part to replace?

Some progress at this link: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-conver ... ost4211235

I am documenting the process as I go through it, hoping to put something together that will save us all some money. If you are impatient, you can buy a new assembly for $915 here: https://www.infinitipartsdeal.com/parts ... le&Filter=()

Takes about an hour to remove and reinstall the new part.
