Purchased a new G37X auto (7spd) about 3 weeks ago and still getting a feel for the car. Bought the car with 15 miles and now has 800 miles, waiting for 1200 before seeing what she can do. Absolutely LOVE it BTW.

Not sure if this is a problem, but I noticed the engine revs up anywhere from 200-500 rpms and sometimes 1000 rmps (like the transmission is slipping) before shifting into the next higher gear at around 35-45 mph. I don’t get a shift shock and this only happens after the car has been driven and then sits for about an hour then driven again and occurs only once after which the car shifts fine. It’s the first initial shift around 35-45 mph when it’s started up again is when it occurs.

So timeline wise:1. Start car from cold warm it up – Drives fine 2. Stop and let sit for an hour3. Drive car again – under light to moderate acceleration, engine revs 200-500 rmps before shifting into gear at 35-45 mph, occurs only first time you achieve that speed after that car drive fine.

Does the same thing in DS mode.

Does anyone know why this is happening or is it normal?

Someone else here had issues with an 09 and if I remember correctly there are two software updates for the car, one of which is for the transmission. May be worth a shot.

Dont think i've heard that one before. Just for info to everyone else, between 33 and 39 the transmission goes into partial lock up and occasionally when shifting, heavier throttle pressure and the downshift revmatching feature of the transmission collide and stuff. When its out of lockup there is a bigger variance between crank speed and output shaft speed, which is why the throttle blips and the rpm raises.
