Hi, I am looking to buy a G37 sedan, but need some help from members with small kids. When a rear facing carseat is installed in the rear middle seat, can the rear seat still comfortably seat two adults (say in a 2hr roadtrip)? Thank you.

the size of the adult is also a factor. :poke:

It should be fine for 2-hours. Personally, I have a front-facing seat behind the passenger seat for my 2-year old. I'd recommend a Graco SnugRide seat. It was one of the only rear-facing seats that fit in my 05 G35 coupe.

i have no children, but i got my sedan in the event i do.. :ohno:

one thing that concerned me is the seat damaging the leather. is it as simple as putting a towel or blanket down?

I have a Chicco rear-facing seat in my sedan. It's on the right side. I had 2 adults sitting in the left & center, comfortably enough, but only for 5 minutes. You have to make sure the seat is level enough in the center - I haven't tried it.

As for protecting the leather, there are seat covers that go under the carseat, which is what I have.

I'm about 6'5" and just installed a rear-facing seat in the backseat on the passenger side. It wouldn't fit behind my seat and I think it would be a pain in the butt to get it in the middle. But it fit well on the passenger side. Chicco makes good and highly rated carseats. Infiniti has a manual that lists carseats that fit into its vehicles and I would crossmatch that to a guide like the one Consumer Reports puts out to find one listed on both before making a purchase.

The Chico Cortina travel system was by far the BEST carseat/stroller combo for a very reasonable price. EVERYTHING on it was sturdy and easy to use. The rear facing seat was actually smaller than the snug-ride that Joe suggested (Thanks for setting me on the right track back then, Joe). Yet easily held my giant child until he was 5 months old. The base stays attached via the LATCH system and the actual rear facing seat just pops in and out, but is very secure and all of the tightening/loosening is well engineered (Can't say the same for the front facing seat I have now).

I was able to fit my son behind the passenger seat and someone up to about 5'7 could sit there. Since the G37 sedan is a lot larger inside than my G35 coupe, you shouldn't have any issues.

The Chico stroller is pretty kick a** too, btw.

As for the leather seats...They're pretty tough. I had my son's seat in there without any protection for months and it didn't even leave a permanent imprint when I took it out...
