Hello,
Apologies if this has a prior thread, I did not see the search feature anywhere.
I had an i35 that was totaled when my under the house garage was turned into a concrete swimming hole...
I am not keen on paying more than 14k for a car.
I loved the i35, but did not like the roll feel in handling or the road disconnect. The seats were a bit wide for me, I have narrowish hips and like to be more snug in the seat.
I have test driven both the G35 and G37.
I find the G37 deliciously fun to drive. The G35 was great too, but not as much as the G37. Both of them destroyed the 2009 Lexus is 250... that car was a snooze fest.
US News car section gave the 2008 to 2012 G37s a score of 2 (scale 1 to 5 with 5 being best score) on reliability. The G35's got much much higher scores for reliability.
I tend to buy a good older model car for good price and keep it til it is very old... my 92 Cherokee is now being driven by my great niece and is cruising fine at about 275k...
I want to make the best choice for long term ownership with respect to repair and maintenance issues and costs.
Anyone have reliable data around the G37's long term reliability?
Are they susceptible to enough problems and repair costs that a score of 2 from US News is a fair assessment?
looking at sedans... most of the local models seem to be the xAWD.
Thanks for any info.
