G37 questions

I have questions relating to the sound system. What are the opinions, especially on the bass performance...does it pack a tight punch or is it boomy? How does it compare with Mark Levinson in the IS?

2nd question is with regards to iPod, what is the general experience with controlling the iPod via the steering wheel controls?

This is the 3rd car in a row I've owned with a Bose system (350Z, Audi A6, G37). The sound is alright, but then my ears aren't as discerning as they were 20 years ago. The system does what I expect to get - clean sound and good range. I keep mine tuned 'flat', I listen mostly to contemporary jazz and rock, and I don't rattle the windows.

As far as controlling the iPod goes, the one annoyance I have with the system is the lack of search for finding a song/artist. If you want to choose by artist, and you have 300 artists to choose from, you may have a lot of scrolling to do. So you're either turning that large knob on the controller a lot, or your thumb will be toggling the steering wheel switch a lot.
