Hey welcome to NICO! Thanks for the great find. I thought the moonroof was part of the premium package... hmm, I guess it can also be a separate option for the people not wanting the moonroof. Anybody know how reliable this resource is?

- Yimbie

P.S. Those prices are pretty much what I expected. Wow... my car is going be $44,200 MSRP.

BTW an equivalent BMW 335i to my car would be $54,970... that's only $10,770 more. I'll spend that extra cash on whatever I wish.

G37 + $10,770 > 335i (It's not like I'm going to be driving all day long)... maybe I'll get a super computer since I'm on it so often...

Thanks for the welcome! You're probably right about the sunroof being an option that is included with the premium package. I'm guessing though that it's like the situation with the current coupe model where you can just get the sunroof as an option without the entire premium package.

Ok So if you get the 6MT model, does that automatically include the sports package or would that be an option?

I would love to initiate a purchase through http://www.luxuryautobids.com, but the site does not list the new 2008 G37 yet.

I'm very glad to have the prices officially announced. I've been waiting for so long. lol I'm very curious as to how Greg (assuming) got those "confidential" dealer invoice prices. You sure do know "people" lol.

You know, you have to love this site. I know I'm going to be paying MSRP for the car since that's what I agreed to, but to have the complete "package" of dealer-side information really is enlightening. Thanks so much, guys.

Hey, guys,

How many of you ordered any "port options" for your car? I ordered none although I'll probably get at least the trunk mat and netting.

The splash guards--ehh, I'm not overly motivated to get them. If someone's really excited about getting them, please let me know why you're getting them.

The 'illuminated kick plates' sound like a Fast-and-the-Furious option. Has anyone seen those things and able to provide some insight? Just sounds a bit superfluous to me.

Again, if those things excite you, please let me know so that I can bug my dealer accordingly in case I change my mind.

I've been looking around at dealer websites searching for price quotes. Infiniti of Santa Monica has a list of 10 G37s that they have available and priced. I noticed that the 6mt model was listed at about 1k above MSRP. I seriously hope that's not the trend, or that it's only b/c of the tendency for there to be more demand in CA.

See for yourself.http://www.leaseinfinitig37.co...7.htm

Yimbie...Which options are you getting that will make the total close to 10k more then MSRP?

Do you mean, 10k more than base? It's having premium package, rear spoiler, tech package, navigation package, and sport package.

As I understand it, Northern California dealers are going to try to push $1,000 above MSRP while Southern California dealers are going with sticker.

Last time I checked, while Santa Monica is north of me, it's not Northern California, so maybe you have a renegade who thinks he can extort more out of customers. Either that, or he's positioning himself to sell it at MSRP by assuming you'll try to haggle.

In either case, I'll bet you that you'll get that car from that dealership through either a) haggling or b) waiting. For the latter, I bet you could return in two weeks and get sticker price once the initial "wow" wears off.

I'm mildly amazed that my $35k (base) car can turn into a $45+k car. But then I play around with any other car out there (Audi TT, 335i), and you see the same thing happen.

The really funny one to watch is the Porsche Cayman, whose base sticker assumes that a) you don't want leather, b) you don't want Xenon headlights, c) you don't need power options in your seat, d) more silly things that I can't remember right now but that surely should be standard as well.

Anyhow, I did notice that a similarly equipped '07 G35 coupe is just $9,000 above base, so there is a bit of creep on the part of the factory. The dealer mark-up on the options is still rather low, so it's not like they're getting the extra money...

I placed a contract/deposit on my G37S as configured in my signature all at MSRP at Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City. Total before taxes/licenses/etc came out to $40,375 with the $715 destination & handling fee included.

Very cool--and congratulations! My information was as of April, so it could very well be out of date. Frankly, I don't think many cars merit a payment over MSRP. I remember being at the local VW dealership (Miramar VW for those in the area) and seeing PASSATS marked up $3,000--they didn't even try justifying it vis-a-vis "Scotchguard Protection" or what-not. It's stunning what some dealerships try to pull off.

Anyhow, congrats again. Have fun on Highways 17 and 9! I miss those roads--this is an ideal car for them!

Hmmm... I think if you order a car they wont mark it up but if you wait for a car on the lot, then they will mark it up. I know that with dealerships that I've spoken with, they're not planning to mark up any cars that are ordered or already deposited on.

this is my first post, but wanted folks to know it's possible to get below MSRP. I got destination charge waived + free window tinting + $100 off spolier, adding up to approx. $1000.

I did this by pushing a few dealers against one another.

I ordered 6MT w/ Prep, Nav, Spoiler.

P.S. before getting this, my local dealer tried to screw me by saying I had to put $1000 deposit, non-refundable even if I didn't touch or modify the car. he also gave me a bunch of other bull, so when I called the manager to let him know how pissed I was, I got the deal listed above.

Good for you and congrats! How hard you can drive a deal is probably a bit of a function of local demand. I know my dealer here is receiving 23 cars, all of which have been spoken for...at MSRP, I'm sure.

Anyhow, it's clear you did a great job negotiating. I thought about playing two dealers off of each other when ordering back in early May, but I didn't press the issue and instead wanted to focus on ensuring they got the order right. In any case, great job.

As a Canadian now enjoying the luxury of our mightly Canadian dollar being on par with our U.S. brothers there is a huge temptation to buy my new G37 in the good old USA.Prices for the G start at $47,200 and go up to $50,600 ++ so needless to say seeing your prices makes me wonder how feasible this would be!?A couple of questions specifically from anyone from canada that has purchased a car south of the border. 1)How and what did you have to do in terms of bringing a car in from the U.S.? 2)Were there any duties that would make justifying purchasing a car in the U.S.? Obviously we would be hit with our provincial and GST taxes... 7%/7% respectively.3) For our U.S. brothers - any recommended dealers along the Ontario Canadian borders that's worth contacting?Hope someone can shed some insight.cheers

The U.S. G37 does not have daytime running lights. Will you have to pay to have that changed before you title it in Canada?

New to the board as well. I have similar questions but I believe I can answer a few of them. In terms of pricing, duty, and taxes my math computes the following for the comparable G37 Coupe Sport 6MT:

U.S$ $35,550 $ 3,200 Premium $ 550 Spoiler =$39,300$ 715 delivery$ 800 (FX @ 1.02)$ 2,500 (Duty @ 6.2% - Made in Japan)$ 500 Daytime running lights$43,815 Cdn+ taxes

Cdn $$49,950+ delivery+ taxes

These numbers are approx, factor in a bit more for RIV fee and transport costs.Article on leftlanenews.com today that some Cdn manufactures will be adjusting price in coming months to closer rival that of US counterparts. Given that G37 08 pricing is already out perhaps dealer allowances will be granted.I'd be looking as well for an Infiniti dealer in western Washington.

Hey AtomicGreat info thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. I would suspect that car manufacturers will try and close the gap as much as possible otherwise we'll all be buying our cars south of the border.Having said that if you can save $2-$3K then it may be something to think about.

cheers

Wow... doing a quick calculation here's what it may look like.

US - in Cdn $$43,815+ GST 6% ($2628)+ PST 8% ($3505)+ Air tx $100+ Fuel tx $75TOTAL: $50,123

CDN$49,950Delivery $1600Air tx 100Tire Tx: $75GST - PSTTOTAL: $57,118

Net difference $6995

Wow makes you want to examine this further... also factor in savings on the interest whether you are financing or leasing!

Check out these guys ... recently written up in our local paper. They act as brokers and have set up an office in Oakville Ontario.

Porche just announced a big decrease in prices!
