I have just leased a 2010 G37x coupe. I have a question regarding the bluetooth phone system. When I get an incoming call, only the number the is displayed, not the name of the caller. This is despite the fact that I have set up the phonebook function with a list of names and numbers.

Does anyone know how to get the names of incoming callers to be displayed?

Thanks.

Under Settings->Phone, there should be an option to download handset phonebook. It should be set to download automatically. This should give you the name of the caller if they are in your phonebook.

I'm not sure if whether you have Navigation or not which might make a difference as well as the make and model of your phone. When you get an incoming call I assume you see name and number on your phone display.
When I test drove a 2010 G37 with Navigation earlier this year that was one of the items I tested with my Blackberry and the salesmen and name and number did display as I recall. That was one of the strong reasons I would probably spring for navigation in my next G

Thanks for the help. My car does have navigation, and I did download some of my phone numbers, but not all of them. Not sure if I have sent the "download phone book" setting to automatic - I'll try that, but I don't know why that would make a difference with respect to the names and numbers I have manually downloaded into the system. Maybe it is my phone - a Motorola razor phone more than 2 years old.

If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.

My car does not have Nav and it does pull the names stored in the phone without a problem. My wife's car does have NAV and it does the same thing. I did try downloading the phonebook on her car once and I believe I had similar issues but didn't really care as I'm fine with the way things work as it is.

Welcome SEB,

I would be willing to bet it is your phone. You might want to see if there are any updates for your mobile phones operating software.

After you update your phone erase the device from your car and re pair it.

Good Luck

That's interesting that your 2010 shows the names of incoming calls. I called the "bluetooth help desk" at Infiniti, and they told me that the 2010 bluetooth phone system did not show names of incoming calls. I found that to be a strange answer, because they admitted that previous model years did - why would they go backwards in technology?

Anyone else have a 2010 G37 that shows names of incoming calls?

It should show the names after you program them into the car.

My 2010 shows the name of the caller if it's in my phone's address book else it just shows the phone number.

There are new bluetooth profiles that are supported and since there are so many phones on the market and only the bluetooth symbols are the same. Just because the device has bluetooth doesn't mean that it is going to work with everything. The new OS in these cars accepts and works with more types of files than ever. But there will most likely be at least one update within the next year hopefully that will fix it. If not try changing some phone settings.

We are all learning the new system together hopefully in the future we can build our own database of what works when and how.
