I'm curious on the 09 G37 Sedan, the only way to get the upgraded stereo was via the Premium Package correct? You can't have a G37 with sunroof and heated seats but with the standard stereo can you?

I found a good deal on a G37X Sedan. No Nav but I have never needed Nav driving in the city that I group up in plus having to stop the car to program the thing would drive me crazy anyway - (I can just use my iPhone to lookup an address when needed.)

But, I realize nav is sought after in the resale market. Can you upgrade the car to Nav for easily and if so what is the cost?

Also, if you were going to add something to a G37 sedan with just Premium, what do people consider the best bang for the buck, aside from bigger wheels? New floor mats? Illuminated kick plates? Paddle shifters? I think I'll do the paddle shifters for sure and the wheels when the budget allows. I don't want to get to ricey, it's a luxury sedan but some nice added touches would be nice. Oh ya, tint.

This kind of stuff comes in packages, not a la carte. If you want a sunroof, you have to take the Bose audio system and memory seats. It's called the Premium package. The Navigation package includes a rear view camera which I find to be of great value when backing up. Since it has a 6-speed manual transmission, my car came with the Sport package and 19 inch wheels. My only other options are splash guards, to keep rocks from chewing up the rocker panels and rear fenders, and an unnecessary, but seemingly unavoidable, trunk mat.

I deliberately rejected two other packages: Technology, because it tries to drive the car for you, and Four Wheel Active Steering, because it makes handling inconsistent. (I no longer see the steering package on the Infiniti web site. No loss.)

Most of this stuff is impossible to add to a car later or would be prohibitively expensive. Think about replacing or supplementing the wiring harness because it only has conductors for the options that were ordered for the car.

It may take some searching out of town and you may have to compromise on colors, but you should be able to find the combination you want. There aren't that many possibilities.

Premium package is kind of a no brainer. Why would you buy a luxury sedan without a sunroof, memory seats, or upgraded stereo? Looking through inventory at one point, I didn't even see any cars without it. As for the NAV, I didn't want one (well I didn't want to pay $1800), but the dealer ended up subsidizing one for me to get their car off the lot. I've really enjoyed the NAV, esp on a roadtrip where it came in handy. I just had to turn the voice off; it was driving me crazy. And the backup camera is really nice to have. The 9 GB audio storage is fun too; although you can easily plug in a 160 GB iPod that you bought for $225.

For resale, in a few years there probably won't be many cars without NAV, so people will be looking for cars with it. Installing those things aftermarket is a difficult and expensive process.

I have the convertible, not sedan, but I believe the options/packages are pretty similar, give or take a few items. I agree that the Premium package is a no-brainer. The Bose is great, and if you have two people possibly driving the car, memory seats are the best. I can typically take or leave navigation, but the system Infiniti uses is pretty fantastic. It's very easy to use and looks great. I would spend the extra on the Nav since aftermarket versions can't compete. I bought my convertible with Premium (I think the only difference to the sedan is the addition of cooled seats and obviously no sunroof), Nav and the Premium 19" wheels. Overall I think it's a great combination.
