Im looking for a new set for my 08, sport(19in) but I dont want to get another set of the factory potenzas. I cant seem to find a matching set other then the Bridgestones. I would also like to stay under 1000 for the set any suggestions?

You might look at some Proxies.

Look for pairs of 245/40/19's in the front and 275/35/19's for the rear.

The stock tires are slightly stretched on the rims as it is, so it won't hurt to go a little bit wider. And there is a lot more choices on tires in the above sizes.

Those are the sizes I plan on ordering for my car in the next few weeks. Tirerack has Yokohama SDrives in those sizes for just over $200 each. That's what I'm leaning towards.

FYI, just a follow up. I ended up getting a new set of Hankook Ventus S1 Evo's for my car from tire rack. They are currently on closeout and only $138 each!

So far, the tires seem great. I'm not sure if its the fact they are newer, stickier, or wider, but they seem to handle much better than the Potenzas.

I went with 275/35/19's in the rear and 245/40/19's in the front on stock rims.

Tell me about it. It was $690 for the tires (which included overnight shipping, long story short...it was an emergency). Then another $138 for mounting and balancing. So yeah, heck of a deal.

I followed your advice. One thing to say THANK YOU!!! Seriously its like I'm driving a different car. They are a hundred times quieter the ride is much softer, and they grip much better then the bridgestones. Plus the price was unbeateable.

Did you go with the Hankook's and the sizes I did on mine? Or did you go with the SDrive's mentioned above?

Can you tell me how both tires wear?Hancock and/or S-Drive. I have about 12K miles on OEM tires and will be looking soon based on the wear factor and way I drive.

Thanks

Only 12k on OEM's? Heck, I got 25k on mine, and that included 4 track days!

I've only got a couple thousand miles on the Hankook's so far, so I can't really tell you what the wear factor is, since they still look nearly new.

I drive Extreme,if I am not going 90,I am going slow,I take turns at least 40 and no brakes, after all it is a G37S!There is something that makes me go crazy when I drive the G37,I might have to give it up if I continue on this pace, either the Car or I will break down and the Car seems to love the speed.

Well be careful, and try to keep the aggressive driving on the track. I like speed too, but there's a right time & place for it, and that's the track.

If I take it to the track god knows what I will do,the car can flymy best solution is to get a car that makes me more a passive driver.

Which is cheaper brakes or tires? As far as giving the car up before it or you brake down, maybe it will be after someone else gets killed.

And to think right now I am considering dropping 700 lbs. while adding 100 hp and more than that in torque.

I doubt I would ever reach the limit on I5.

Brakes -

Front Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness (in) 12.8 x 1.26 Rear Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness (in) 12.0 x 1.00

Tires - Front Tire Size P245/40ZR18 Rear Tire Size P285/35ZR19

Top Speed - 186 mph

3179 lbs. 400 hp. @ 6000 rpm. 400 @ 4400 rpm torque.

They have just over 18k miles on them and look like they could go at least twice that. They are F1s.

I've had a lot of luck with the BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDWs. They are excellent with dry traction. Wet traction isn't too bad though. All seasons, I would either prefer The G-Force Super Sport A/S, or more expensive, THe Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus. But then again, you get what you pay for, but I'd prefer BFG's over Michelin any day. Just a personal preference.
