Any G37's out there in Arizona that want to see if you can keep up with a 2007 G35 Sedan??

I'd prefer to meet at the track but let me know what you have in mind.

Probably wishful thinking on my part but,

All the car mags clocked the G37 0-60 in 5.4 the same magazines were clocking 07 G35 sedans 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. I know the G37 has a 24 hp advantage but it also has a 200 lb handicap.

It would be a very close race. Hopefully I find a G37 that is game and we can meet at the track and do it right!

I'm also on lexus forum harassing IS350 owners. I really have a woody for that matchup. The IS350 has one more gear, makes peak hp earlier, has 9 lbs more torque and weighs about 50 lb's less then a G35 S sedan. The IS350 weighs the same as a G35 Journey and base sedan. I have a Journey.

I've played in traffic with 3 IS350's but never had room to really see what would happen.

I think it'd be a driver's race even tho the IS has a slight advantage.

Man thank you so much for posting this video!!!

Looked like the sedan was sleeping a little. The G37 driver posted,

"That run i got a 14.02 or something and the sedan got a 14.06 i think?"

4 thousandths of a second is not much. Anything less then a tenth can be driver error.

I would love to see the slips from that race!

Thank you again!

Jeff

I have a G37 and I live in Mesa, I would be down to meet up sometime and give this a shot. I don't check these boards too much so just email me sometime.

I'll PM ya the slips (the link is off another site). From what most ppl can tell so far is that the coupe/sedan appear fairly equal in terms of straightline performance. stock vs stock likely it'll come down to a driver's race.

LMAO!!! The other site dedicated to just G37s (wont say name, search please) has guys running 13.7 with AUTO stock. So far 5 people have been to the track on that site and all but one, are in the 13's stock on first tries. Most of the guys who have ran are new to the track scene. The traps are high at to 101-103 mph.

Oh if you were in MD, I would take you up at capitol raceway. With the car fully broken in, we are expecting mid 13's for the G37S stock.

Supposedly there was a guy that ran with his 6MT in florida who ran a 13.4 STOCK at 103mph. We are seriously tring to find him and get him on the forums.

Oh and I have a G37S 6MT 2200 on the clock and I DRIVE HARD (with Fujita dual intakes).

COOL!!!

I'm going to want to run at Speedworld. Firebird only does Friday nights and the track prep sucks.

I'll PM you my cell phone and hopefully we can meet up next time either of us goes to the track. I went to Speedworld this weekend and ran a 14.060 at 98.868 mph uncorrected. It corrects to a 13.7 at 101.5 mph.

Thanks again!!!

Thats what I said.

I try to leave when the second yellow dims. If you do it right you get a .0-.2 reaction time. A lot of times I miss my light and leave when the last yellow lights and end up with a .3-.4 reaction time still good but not great.

I did raced my g37S auto vs a g35s. they seem to have a limitor at 140mph while i was able to go to 155mph no prob.

You probably raced an X if it had a speedlimiter. How close was the race to 60? Should have been about even.

My G35J goes 150+ no problem. The second weekend I had it I got up at 5am Sunday morning headed out of town on the freeway. Found a nice straight stretch drove up and down it 2 times. Then opened the car up once it got past 150 I slowed down cause the stock Goodyears were pretty worn. I'd love to have a track day at Phoenix International and open it up on the banked oval.

Travis you out there?

I know we tried to meet the past 2 weekends but got rained out. I went out to Speed World this weekend and beat up on some 2006 350Z's. Let me know when we can have our race?

I thought the 350Z's were suppose to be faster than the G37s (maybe that's the newer Z's)?

Does the G37 have a speed inhibitor on it? Some of the previous posts lead me to believe that it did. I haven't had a chance to open my G37 up yet.
