G37 ipod connector question

2008 G37 here... when turning my car on, my ipod seems to turn on with it only about 25% of the time. sometimes the ipod will turn on with the car, but most of the other times i have to open the center console, unplug the ipod, turn the ipod on, and then reconnect it. very annoying. and also, i would have assumed that my car would keep my ipod always charged. not the case. it runs out of battery in like 2 or 3 days. bad ipod maybe? it's a nano.

I know that certain iPod generations will work 100% with the G37. Typically, the newer ones will have issues.

I have a similar issue with my 2011 G37X coupe. Usually the iphone workds but every once and a while it wont play and you have to disconnect and reconnect.
