I just had my 27K service at the dealer. Apparently this was the first time they scheduled me for an alignment. I have had all recommended tire rotation and maintenance to date on the OEM Bridgestone tires. Long story short, they indicated that I need new front tires. When I looked at the tire they appeared to have normal wear except for the inside edge of both tires. This type of wear is usually indicative of bad alignment. The dealer assured me that this was not the case. She said the G35 and G37 are notorious for this type of front tire wear (a design glitch as she called it) and that I had faired better then most of her customers to make it to 27K. She said that even if they aligned the car every week this type of wear would continue. When I indicated that this would not be acceptable she offered to suppy me the number of the local consumer affairs agency. She indicated that the back tires had only 50% wear (which would make sense as I was expecting the tires to last to 42K). Has anyone had a similar experience? Is this normal? Should I take the car for servicing (and alignment) somewhere else??

Inner wear comes from negative camber. You should rotate the tires so that it would wear evenly. Or invest in a camber kit.

It's not a design "glitch"...it's a design consequence. To have a great handling car, you need camber...but that isn't the best for tire longevity. Honestly, 27k on OEM Bridgestone's is pretty good! Get different tires!

In my 05 coupe, my OEM tires lasted 12k miles!!

Well don't feel bad I replace my tires every 8 months.I have an 04 G35 Coupe I Purposely squat my Tires for more grip, so the inner most part of the tire get bold. Well to answer your question just get better tires. I had some track tires from avon tech cheap but got the job done. I had them for about 2 years in the front and 3 years on the back. I really didn't need tires untill 45,000mi. I will stay away from falken Good looking tire great when dry. If raining be careful tire skid very easy when driving at 40mph Almost hit some one. I'm am currently driving some Pirelli PZero Corsa Direzionale front, PZero Corsa Asimmetrico rear on 18'' GT Setup $1030 setup. i would just keep up with the aligment and check tire pressure for the most part. It's the cheapest thing you can do, Trust me the longer you have the car the more problems you seem to notice
