G37 fuel requirements

I am considering buying a G37 sedan. I noticed somewhere that it requires 91 octane fuel. Is this just a recomendation or can the car not adjust for lower octane fuel?

91 fuel is required. If you run 87 you can be denied warranty claims related to the motor
