Hi everyone, sorry if this has been covered already. I recently purchased a 2008 G37s Coupe with 30k miles. The car is in great shape, but I notice the front bucket seats have a good amount of wear on them, specifically around the door side thigh and Rib bolsters. The leather is already cracking and at some point soon after continuously getting in and out of the vehicle I anticipate them splitting open.
My question is, has anyone else had experience with this, and if so have you had any luck with the dealership covering this (in my opinion) premature wear under the initial bumper to bumper warranty?
I appreciate the feedback.

I had the same problem on my 08 G37S and the dealer replaced the leather after
mfg rep came and gave the ok to replace it,happened around 20k Miles so still
under warranty and less than 2 years old at the time.

I have had that problem with every car I have ever had with leather seats. That is why it doesn't bother me at all that my new Z has cloth seats. They just do that. I was bad and never treated mine. Maybe with more care, like Zaino leather care, they would have worn better. Mine looked really bad on my G and it started at about 15k miles.

The dealer should replace them under warranty.

getting a-lot of pushback from the dealer. Service manager states today over the phone that anything in the cabin is a "wear item" and therefore is a judgement call as to whether it will be covered under warrenty. he suggested that I come down tomorrow so he can take a few pictures and send to the manufacturer in order to determine claim eligibility...I already hate these guys.

That sounds pretty reasonable on his part. It's not in his discretion to make the judgement call, but he's willing to go to bat for you with Infiniti. It will probably take an inspection by their regional rep. Getting testy with the local guy will probably not be in your best interests.
