i read in an automobile magazine that a convertible g37 will be out early next year (i saw a couple of photoshop pics here) and that a g37 sedan is also in the works... it also gets a 7A... anybody else read / heard about this? they are passing out the "G35" monicker... i guess it makes sense to leave the 3.5L engine to nissan and have infiniti get the 3.7L engine on all its cars... infiniti is suppose to be a step up from nissan, performance wise (except the GTR) .. although the "Z" also gets the 3.7L...

Greg (AZHitman) reported that he talked to a NNA guy at the last meet and he indicated that the 37 vert and the 37S were done deals. The guy wouldn't comment on the 37 sedan, although, if you call a dealer and ask to order one, they will order one for you... I assume they won't announce it as a change like that may hamper the same of existing 35s.

I'd like the 7AT, but the extra 14 HP the 37 provides (320 in Sedan form I've been told) isn't worth it. Euro 09 sedans have the 37 engine already.

First the 37 sedan was introduced in Spain. Cost of 42500 Euro. That's a lot of green my friend. I know they always pay more but they get raped.

Oh well.

The excessive shifting in the 5at already annoys the hell out of me, I don't think I could handle another 2 gears for that slushbox to shift lol.

New car and driver confirms it. G37 sedan with 330hp and a 7at. The G37 sport sedan gets the g37 coupes 18 inch wheels and upgraded four piston calipers with 14 inch rotors. Also a G37X coupe is coming. The drop top G37 debuts in February.

Good stuff.

I told the wife about the upgrades to the g35 sedan and the response....."your never happy". They just don't understand....

I enjoy the power that my G coupe has now, just wish it got more MPG.

It's gets about the same as my Cobra and the Cobra has a DOHC 4.6L V8 with 305HP.......and it was built 12 years ago!! BY FURD!!!

Maybe they should talk to Toyota. WHen I was comparing the 4-runner to the pathy several years ago, the 4-runner had more HP & MPG on REGULAR gas......

When you think about it, Ford really has been at the forefront of technology and development. It's no wonder they make the most recognized car in America, the beloved Mustang.

The same 7AT transmission, I beleive is in the FX50 which i test drove. The 6th and 7th gears are virtually the same and they have very low torque.

I am still wondering why Nissan is moving away from the VQ engine to the HR engines. Yet, part of the GTR's engine design is taken from the VQ and RB engines and not form the HR engines. I will be waiting to see how the HR engines really pan out. They are not as excting as the VQ engines.

I think the HR motor is smoother than the VQ's and that appeals more to the customer than the VQ's... Infiniti has to compete with LEXUS and that is why they want a smooth motor with a lot of power!

They all still get a sweet exhaust sound lol!

There are the few of us NICO jukies that like that Rough motor so that we can feel the power.. but the regular pop likes smooth power lol!

If you guys are talking about the HR as in VQ35HR, have no fears, it has plenty of power, and it's as smooth as a baby's butt all the way up to the 7600 rpm red line. But it's still doesn't sound as good as a V8.

I would agree! I happen to be one of those who like the rough edges of the VQ engine. But I feel somewhere in the soul of Nissan, they love the DE more than the HR engine. I don't know for sure but I get that feeling.

Yes, I like the responsiveness and power of the HR motors but they are too smooth. However, i am impressed with Nissans ability to manipulate their engines and their design without much ado. I think Infiniti should offer two versions of their cars--the VQ35DE engines and the VQ35HR engines. I shouldn't have to be limited to one type of engine.

They Need a 3.7 and a 5.0 opt IMHO

Hey when I go to walmart I have like 50 different kinds of TP, 150 types of juice, 50000 types of sodas...

But at INFINITI we only get one type of motor

LOL

You are Right! But I don't know of any V6 FORD motor or any other american motor that sounds as good as a VQ or HR

Hey Have your heard the GTR's sound.... Sounds like a well tuned NASA Rocket!DJ
