Looking for a new car. Until today, was about 85% sure I was getting TL, but saw the G37 up close. Can anyone provide honest feedback on the G37 and if you have any known/experienced comparison to the Acura.
Thanks

Well, the G37 on looks alone!!!! Like what ^he said, the TL is fugly!!!

Also, depends on whether or not you are looking for a true sports sedan.
If you are, then you have to go with the G37 due to it being a RWD with AWD as opposed to a FWD with AWD.
We tested our G35X's AWD last winter in the snow and it did better than any of the 4x4 SUV's I've owned over the years.

So, go test drive them and let us know what you think!!

Welcome to Nico!!

My last comparison was in December of 2005 when I test drove the Acura, the G35, and the Lexus

I love the rear wheel drive and the comfort of my G35.Made five or six round trips to Florida from New Jersey with no backache or discomfort after driving 12 hours.
Test drive them both a multiple dealers. If you can drag out the process until December that is an excellent time to purchase. Bought my 2006 G35 on 12/31/05 about 11AM :)

Good luck

You should get a better deal on the TL since they are having a hard time selling them. I figured that people that bought the ugly new model TL were Honda fans and never bothered test driving other makes. That would be the only logic I can think of for buying the ugly TL over the G37.

Just leased a G37x....much better deal than comparable TL awd. Look at the "incentives" under the "new car" section on Edmunds.com. A G37x lease is not listed....but one is available.

Two suggestions:
  • Read every review you can find about the G37 and the TL. The G37 hasn't changed much since its introduction (coupe in 2008 and sedan in 2009).
  • Test drive both cars.

Can't go wrong with either one.

As Rich said it. G with RWD based AWD tuned for more fun as oppose to TL's awd more sure footed.

Testdrive both and see which one you like. If you like Acura's new face why not go for the TL.

Also there is a size diferent between the 2. The TL is more of a size of the M37X. Maybe you should testdrive that too.

I am probably in the minority, but I really like the looks of the new TL. The front end is really weird, but I think it is very sleek, but comparing it to the G, I found I had to option the heck out of the car to get all of the same options the G had and the TL was much more expensive..

the 2010 TL has better seats than the 2010 G37x... as in softer leather... the ride is much smoother... has about the same options as the G37x... but thats where it ends.
The center console is crowded IMO and takes some time getting used to.
It has a bigger center screen but its not a touch sceen.
It has a regular google like GPS software, while the Infiniti GPS is unique with 3d mapping and a foward birds eye view of the map. (you can use the top down map also)
the rear view camera in the TL is passive, while the G37 gives you driving line predictions, with collision warnings.
The TL has a nice audio system with the same amount of speakers as the G37x but lacks DVD video playback.
The G37x can rip audio cds as well as upload music from a thumb drive. the TL only has thumb drive uploading.
The TL has an kinda annoying text-to-speach system that reads everything on the screen all the time. (i think it can be turned off though).

But the bottom line is if you want a nice sports sedan vs nice sedan? the TL's 305hp FWD based AWD vs G37x 330hp RWD based AWD.

I like the TL overall, but the engine and drivetrain of the G37x won me over.

by the way I own a 2010 g37x and ride in my homeboyz 2010 TL a couple times a weeks so i'm giving you a first hand review.
