What I've learned so far is, the G37 wants you to 'push' your contacts from your phone to the car, via Bluetooth. The iPhone, to the best of my knowledge, does not allow you to push or beam your contacts. So, unless an update from either Infiniti or Apple comes along, you may have to enter your contact information manually.

I'm going to attempt a work-around later, using a laptop as a go-between.

[EDIT] I just tried to pair my MacBook with the G37, in the hopes that I could transfer my contacts from the MB to the G37. This won't work, as the G37 doesn't recognize the MB as a 'phone'. So until an update appears, the only way is to manually input the contacts

This is probably the temporary solution for me. At least to get the bulk of my contacts uploaded. Now to find my old Treo.

Didn't work. Treo can only beam contacts, not pass via BT.

Oh well.

Heh.

Actually Infiniti needs to implement a more compliant version of bluetooth. I can't think of too many phones currently on the market that can initiate a BT connection to 'beam' contacts. Blackberry, perhaps.

Nah, I paired my Blackberry Pearl AT&T with every Infiniti on the show room and couldn't transfer my contacts to any of them.

The bluetooth support of the iPhone is disappointing. I'm in the same boat.

Even if you were able to export your contacts to the flash drive and import them that way, it would be semi-convenient. I thought the inclusion of the flash drive amazingly forward thinking but now that I've had the chance to try to use it, it's really not that functional. Sure, you can play music via the drive but the result is a modest experience at best.

You had a really great idea, trying to pair your macbook. It's a shame that didn't work either. That might have been even more convenient than syncing via the iPhone.

Manually inputting contacts in an address book is practically unheard of anymore. Infiniti really should try to iron out a more sensible approach.

I own the new 2008 G37 Sport completely loaded with every option. I just picked it up 2 weeks ago. And this contact issue is the only instance that I've found disappointing.

This is most definitely an Infiniti problem they need to address in a software update.

My iphone works just fine with my Garmin C550 GPS. The address book syncs up without issue over bluetooth. No special configuration or anything, it just worked.

It would be great to have the address book working in the g37 with the iphone that easily.

I was able to push my contacts from my Blackberry 8830 to my G37S, but they aren't always available to use (like when the car is moving). They come over in a separate phone book from the main phone book. It is very frustrating.
