Hi Everyone,

My first Infiniti was the G35x Sedan 2011 that I loved so much that I went and bought my wife the new Qx60 2014. I bought my G35x sedan from the US then shipped it to the middle east and wanted to update the maps on the navigation system but couldn't because its a hard drive and not the dvd.

So I need to ask:

1) does anyone know how to update/change the maps and I want to do it my self? dealership here are very expensive
2) what is the name of the device that the dealership uses to update the maps or/and change them to the new area I am in now? where to get it and how to use it? (the device dealership uses to program computer and up date hard drive and navigations system)
3) how to access the hard drive to update the maps?
4) Any other suggestions? one guy was telling about the INFINITI Add-On Navigation but I can't seem to find how to order it where they also have to install it for you and since I'm in the middle east for work I need to do it my self

i know that you buy the cds from the infiniti map website. the dvds are then loaded onto your hard drive, after selecting "update from dvd" from the menus on the car. That sounds like you dont need the dealer to install a DVD update to your hard drive. but some say you still need to pull out your radio to install the DVDs. that doent make since to me, it shouldnt be that hard. it should be just as simple as inserting DVDs and hiting the "update from DVD" in the menu.
