Hi all,

Hailing from Australia here. I'm the owner of a NM35 Stagea which is basically the G35x in a wagon form plus a turbo

I'm trying to source braided brake lines for my car but I'm having trouble finding a set for the G35x.

Rang Stoptech and Goodridge who both say they don't make a set specifically for the G35x due to lack of demand.

Contacted CZperformance who claims the Stoptech G35 lines will fit the G35x as "The Stoptech SS Brake lines eliminate the block mounts on the original
lines, thus we don't have to follow them anymore. This allow us to install the lines on any G35 model."

Is this true? The Stoptech guy wouldn't confirm or deny the veracity of this statement as he has never done a braided line job on a G35x.

Would much appreciate your input in this matter! I've got a 350z Brembo package sitting here doing nothing...because I reaaaaaaaaally want to put braided lines in!

So - if you own a G35x and have installed braided brake lines, which product did you use and how much did it set you back?

Cheers,

Jet

stillen also carries the Phantom kit. i like that one better.
as far as fitment goes, i cannot say for certain that these will fit. it does not fit g37 sport models because the brakes are difference.

yours being AWD may not be the same brakes as a regular G35 Journey or other trim level.

the phantom kit:

says it is for all models of g35 EXCEPT AWD. you may want to check with the manufacturer as they may have something available.

So is your G35 AWD?

I ended up getting the Stoptech ones as Cos from CZperformance said he's sold them to G35 AWD owners and never had a complaint.

I saw the Goodridge Gstop lines but wasn't sure if they'd fit. I called them and they said they weren't sure either...

I'll see what I can do!

I'm surprised there isn't already a tutorial on here for chaning the brake lines! I would think quite a few G owners would've upgraded to braided lines!

Installed the Stoptech SS this weekend, as well as my 350z Brembo kit with new rotors and pads.

Rear lines were easy to fit but the fronts had to be fiddled with in order to ensure they don't rub against anything.

dont see that car too often. thanks for posting! the brembos look good. you obviosuly didnt have a problem with fitment with your rims.

i was hoping you were keeping the stock setup so you could gauge how much better the vehicle stopped (responsiveness) with the braided lines.

still in all, do you notice a difference? they definitely look better.

when you say "fiddled" with, what had to be done for the fronts?

You probably wouldn't have seen these cars in the US at all. They aren't allowed for import to the US...

rims fitted fine since they are 350z track rims. The brembo brakes were from a 350z track edition so guaranteed to fit.

front brake lines needed to be fiddled with as we needed to find spots to mount/cable tie the lines to the suspension. You can see from the pics that there are mounting points for the original OEM lines. But since the Stoptech lines don't have mounting blocks (unlike the Goodridge or HEL lines), you can choose where to mount/tie the lines to avoid rubbing.

After bleeding the brakes pedal travel was shot to hell. I rebled it after a few days and got some more bubbles out, and brake feel is definately better, but still not as good as I expected from a setup like this. PLanning to rebleed it later this week.

The brakes did feel better then the OEM setup (which is same as the G35). But the biggest advantage with the Brembos is that they are much more resistant to fading. My car makes 400+ hp and weighs about 1800kg, so repeated braking made the OEM setup fade pretty quickly...
