This is a recap and solution to my Window problem. Recently my passenger side window started giving me issues. The first thing I noticed is that the window wouldn't always go up when I pressed the button. I had to press it twice.

Eventually, the window wouldn't go up or down and a clicking/thumping noise started to eminate. At first I thought it was the extremely expensive motor. Then I opened the door up and realized that it was in fact the regulator. Much cheaper btw.

I finally opened the interior panel and came to realize that the motor and regulator had worked their way apart. 1 screw had fallen off and the other two were very loose.

This meant that the motor would turn, catch slightly, then slip. This is what caused the noise.

I'll post up pictures when I get the chance. The basic solution is to remove the the interior door trim, and the interior metal door panel (lots of screws), then tighten the 3 screws that hold the motor to the regulator.

Hahahaha. We tried. It's not easy when you're 6'3 trying to cram yourself into the back of the coupe.

I'm not sure why the screws were loose. I almost want to blame sabotage, because one of the interior metal panel bolts was loose too, but that's just paranoia.

Hahaha, or a service tech wanted to create some business, so he left them loose. I know vibrations can loosen bolts/screws, but this was pretty bizzarre. 1 of the panel screws was about half way out and the 3 regulator screws were about to fall out or already fallen out.

In any event, the situation is fixed.

Service tech unlikely, as it would kill the csi rating... probably something else though...
