hi guys!

I really some suggestion from you guys, because i thinking to get a new car, first of all i am a business man, so i guess you know what i need. Personally, i love car racing, so i don't want to spend money on something cannot race. I think the G35 and the RX8 is the best choice, i likes both cars.

Which one should i get?? the price range is very close......

Thanks

G35...definitely. Why own an RX-8 when they can't even get the hp figures straight? Aftermarket is stronger with the G35 right now. IIRC rotor engines are not the most reliable long-term either.

G35.

I am biased, but I really don't think that the cars are in the same class. For the money, the G35 is by far the better car. Performance is better, luxury is better and in my opinion the looks are better. Plus, Infiniti is number 1 or 2 in service and reliability.

personally I'd go with the G35 coupe or wait and see if they'll bring out a turbo rotary to deal with these HP numbers problems...

turbo rotary equals awesome sound, though after time, you'll really have to worry about emissions being the motor in design, isn't a very clean burning motor...

How are you comparing a 27K base car (G35) with 46k or 70k (M3/5) base cars?

The RX8 is no where near the all around car that the G is.

the RX8 dynos at 188 RWHP, it was rated at 250 then 240(?) hp after people started complaining of false hp ratings.

G35 = hottness, power, luxury and affordablility

you might want to wait i couple of months for the AWD G35. i heard the dealership even offer a supercharge option for the G's. whether to take the G35(sedan) or the RX8 i would probably take the RX8. if it was between the G coup or the RX8 i would take the coupe of course.

Why take the rx8 at all? It has no bottom end power and some pathetic horsepower figures

G35 indeed. So nice, so powerful. Rx8 looks like a hunch back, and has conflicting power reports. Mazda says you cant really dyno it. I say who knows.

"According to the internet" There's been a lot of problems with the RX-8. recall crap, ecu restrictions on performance, 15 sec quarter mile times, tire pressure monitoring system has many flaws, b-pillar suicide door configuration restricts certain types of racing, and trannies failing within the first 2000 miles of having one. Not to mention looks. G35 all the way!

Many months ago, Road and Track (or was it Car and Driver, I do not remember) did a head-to-head comparison between the G35, RX-8 and one other car. The G35 came out ahead of the RX-8 for sure.

I remember an article similar to that. May or may not be the same thing, but I think it was the RX, the G and the Z in the test.

if im not mistaking the 350z and g35 are getting recalled. Nissan is doing a mass recall due to faulty motor. Dont get me wrong i love those cars also but i'd say wait till next year when all the bugs are fixed.

Also hayato kazami what kind of business man are you? what is your income? and what do you plan to use it for? Cause some business men have to take their customers out using your own car. And about the M5, its a good car and used to be my dream car until i started reading about the new Benz E55 and S55.

your blowing it WAY out of proportion, its a faulty revolution senser, it doesnt make the car go bad, it doesnt ruin the motor, it just makes it harder to start and as far as i know NOBODY on these boards have had the problem yet. Also, it is a voluteered recall, because it doesnt cause any safety issues, and will most likely be replaced free of charge durring the vehicles next service. Other manufacturers would have just let it slide and after the warrenty expired YOU would have to pay for its replacement. In the words of Fred: "I think it is a class act" on the part of nissan/infiniti to recall the part Volunterily.

yup you are right i just checked up on it...sorry for the false info all i heard was Nissan was doing a mass recall cause of the motor. thats what i heard from one of my friends. *guess i should i have looked into it myself before posting.

Thanks j-spec for correcting that.

Thanks why i like NICO compared to other forums not so much flaming going on in these forums.

"Vehicles are being recalled for replacement of the engine crank position and cam position sensors. Improper operation of the sensors could cause the engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) to illuminate; create a no-start condition or reduced engine power; or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation. To this date, no accidents or injuries have occurred"

I'd rather have a G35 coupe. More torque and more practical. Plus the mystery power rating for the RX8. However, I personally think the RX8 is a gorgeous car, and it has the light and nimble thing going for it.

For the price of a G35 coupe with the 6-speed and brembos you could get an 350z, EVO VIII, or STI and still have a few grand to play with. However if I had the funds to buy the G35 thats what I would get.Best car out there in the 33K-40K range IMO.

Thats a great price!I found one for just under 38K OTD with nav. and many other packages. The EVO will only set you back 26-29K and the STI is about 32K the 350z can go from 26-32 depending on which version you get(in coupe form).

if i got a EVO, first thing i would do, get rid of the tail lights and put some regular lancer taillights in.
