G35 Vin issues..

Decided I would look at my Vin today, got bored, decoded it. Apparently my G35 is a '91 G20... JNKCP01P4MTxxxxxx..

I figured the shop I got it from was sketchy..

Does anyone see any problems with this(insurance wise)?.... lol. I don't know what to do.

When you say the shop that you got it from are you referring to the shop that checked your vin for you or the shop you bought the car from?

If your referring to the car, I can see some serious issues. I'd double check that all the characters you typed in were correct first.

Shop I bought the car from... Bay Auto Zone Finch/Keele, Toronto. =\ Double-tripple checked the vin.. it's a 1991 G20.

Did you get any trouble from the DMV (Not sure if it's the same in Canada) When you tried to register you car? I'd definitely contact the shop.

Although, for the record...I'd be weary of dealing with any businesses on Finch...LOL

In fact, I did have issues with registering it.. I had to use a broker, and I guess they worked/pushed it though to get me as a customer....Gotta love the business practices up here in Toronto...

This may not be too bad though........ If I contact my bank/dmv, maybe I can get this resolved with my money back...I'd love to swap into a 2dr 2005+..

Yeah just make sure the vin is legit first. Not to alarm you but this car was probably either stolen, or totalled at some point in it's life which is why the vins were swapped. Most cars have vins all over, I'd check those too, although I'm not sure of the locations of the other vins on a G.

My car is going back on the road shortly, however I can't get to the car to confirm the dash vin...I had my Dad check my contract/policy etc, it appears as if my insurance company entered the wrong vin, hope to confirm this after work. =(

..and I was kinda liking the idea of a new 2005+..

Yes on a G35 I theres a Vin under the hood near the battery on a silver metal plate .Theres another in on the upper portion of the dash(Driver side...look in through the outside of the car to read it...and I'm not sure but there might be another inside the driver side door jam on a sticker.If there all the G20 vin then that car was stolen 100%

Furthermore, there is a huge VIN on the firewall under the windshield in the engine bay, and also a few instances on the engine as well.

thats some bad ****it seems like a definatly crashed cardidnt you check carfax before you bought the car?
