Got 2006 G35 ... But the stupid system always took Two and Four as "O" ...

Asked ten of my friends tried ... none of them can persuade it dial a 2 or 4!

The funny training system took around 15 minutes ... and it did understand 222 to 022, 444 to 0404 ... if I said 4161234 ... it returns 0161230 ... It sucks hard.

Do not buy this car until this is fixed. When I am using phone to dial, my shotgun guy got surprised ... I have been tired to explain it ... ...

It sucks ...

I am considering to ask dealer to fix it or I will return this car for a BMW or Audi ...

You are bashing and want to get rid of the car because of bluetooth? If thats all you wanted, you could of bought a Honda and a bluetooth earpiece, you would of saved some money.

calm down take a deep breath. I have a 2006 G35 6sp MT with bluetooth. It takes some time to get used to it. I'm pissed because incoming caller ID does not display on the dashboard like it does on the Acura TL but I found the G35 more comfortable.Anyway when entering numbers into the phone book try to do it with the windows closed in a quiet place. Speak in a clear and constant voice. Just today it wouldn't accept one eight zero zero but did accept one eight hundred and the rest of the numbers. Go figure?I usually add numbers while waiting for my wife to come out of the mall.

What has the world come to? Are we all so lazy that we can't dial a phone (in the worst case scenario of course).

Try turning your head a bit towards the microphone when you speak, that might help. I do agree that whoever designed the bluetooth microphone location on this car was an idiot. It should have been placed in the pillar just above and to the left of the steerring wheel (when seated in the car). That way, as your voice is projected forward when you speak the microphone picks up what you are saying.

Instead I believe they placd it just above the Sunroof controls, where no amount of noise cancellation is going to make the system accurate all of the time because you don't face that direction when you speak.

I have an '05 coupe and the bluetooth did not come factory in '05 so I bought a Motorola IHF1000 and had it installed. The guy at Car toys put it by the sunroof in the same location as the '06 models and the thing wouldn't pick up **** and never voice dialed the right number. So I had them move it over to the pillar by the driver's door and I have not had an inaccurate voice dial since doing so almost a year ago.

If you hate it that much then get rid of the car. Based on the tone of your post you porbably shouldn't have bought it anyway.

Good luck.

Curious. Does the bluetooth not allow you to set up for name recognition? My phone supports this feature and with my bluetooth headset, I just press the button, say the name I want and it dials. Just wondering if the bluetooth system is capable of doing this. Or at the very least, allowing a pass through operation so I can operate it the way I do now.

You must have a horrible accent. I have no problem calling numbers and it is much easier when you simply enter numbers with names. Try saying zero and not "o"..

Goodluck...

You should be driving, not talking on a stupid cell phone! It should be illegal anyway...they've proved that you actually drive worse when on a cell phone then if you're legally intoxicated! All the drivers that I see on there phones, and the near misses! Just because you're hands free, doesn't mean you're not distracted from the road.

Off my box now...just saw the title of the thread and got a little pissed.

Ok... I gotta ask. Just what is the difference between having one, two or three people in your car that you are talking to while you are driving, versus talking on the cell using hands free?? I have seen people who turn their heads to address someone in the car, which takes your eyes off the road completely. I totally agree that holding the cell up to your head with one of the hands that should be used for driving is completely unsafe... but then so are eating, reading, shaving, applying makeup, all of which I have observed people doing while driving. Hell even smoking... holding anything that is burning at one end while you are driving can only be a disaster waiting to happen!

So, do we now outlaw passengers in the vehicle? How about kids in the backseat that are getting restless and drawing your attention away from driving? I think that there are distractions a-plenty that pop up in your day to day driving. Minimizing them is very important, but I don't think that you can totally eliminate them. At least with a hands free setup, you are allowing yourself the maximum ability to control your vehicle... as for the brain, and staying mentally connected to what you are doing, well, that is a whole other topic.

Thanks for letting me borrow your soap box, Joe!

Sorry, I was pissed because I was cut-off twice that morning...and both were on their cell phones. One didn't even know she had done it (or didn't care)!! I totally agree with you on the passenger thing. You usually see that in younger drivers though. And kids...thats up to the parents to safely keep the peace in the back seat while driving. I've seen accidents that were fatal due to reaching back to deal with something...very sad. Finally smoking. Don't think thats as big a deal, not hard to take a puff and keep at least one hand on the wheel. Now flick you cig out while I'm behind you...and having it bounce off my car; I'd rather be cut off!!!

I'm not against cell phones while driving, hell sometimes there's a real need (work, directions, emergency). But its the mindless chatter that many drivers seem to be engaged in now-a-days that can be dangerous. Nuf said

Actually, I've been married for 8 years...I usually don't vent online, but I didn't like to title of the thread.

Hey Joe... Try flicking one out that comes back in your face, or in the back seat, or have the cherry drop off in your lap. I guess I just have a pet peeve with drivers who smoke, (actually smokers in general), because they all seem to think that the world is their ashtray. I don't know about where you are, but here in So Cal, cig butts are EVERYWHERE you look... as well as the little piles you see at red lights where the driver got tired of his ashtray being too full. Just lazy and inconsiderate is all that is.

No need to appologize. I feel where you are coming from, and I have had people driving while on the influence of a cell tower cut me off as well... and then got pissed when I honked at them!

Ok... this is officially a dead horse. Can someone pass me the baseball bat?
