2004 G35 Sport Coupe 6MT with 32,600 miles. Dealer says noise is due to worn rear sway bar links. Estimate to replace $260. This car is what I call my "grandmaw car". It is the car I drive to the office, hence the 6 years but only 32,600 miles. No spirited driving around curves, no autocross, no track time, or similar activities that would induce premature wear of suspension parts. I think this is ridiculous wear for a car driven only on pretty smooth paved roads. I heard the dealer service writer telling another customer roughly the same thing, noise due to worn sway bar bushings. This car is being a nightmare to maintain, keep kicking myself for getting rid of my old Porsche daily driver. Anyone else have this experience with suspension noise at low miles .

What kind of noise is it..

If it is a clicking sound when you take off or go from reverse to forwardit is not the sway bar but just needing the rear shaft to be lubed.

odd that you would have issues with such low mileage. I've never seen that. be more specific as to the sound. When it occurs, how, what it sounds like, etc...

I have a similar noise with my 05 coupe with almost 35K....sounds like a worn bushing on a shock. Only makes noise when going over a bump....I gave up on trying to figure it out and there isn't an Infiniti dealer in Reno, NV. I've looked under the car, taken off the wheels and inspected the suspension, had it on an alignment rack and bounced it up and down to see if I could hear it....I even tapped on the shock mounts and control arm mounts with a deadblow rubber mallet....nuthin! I'm at the point where I just turn up the tunes....still love the car...everything has issues (guys with wives understand that)

I had dealer replace rear sway bar links, approximately $235 cost. Squeaking noise gone.

My 2007 G35 coupe started making a rear suspension noise at 20,000 miles. Any little bump in the road would cause the noise which appeared to come from both sides in the trunk. After 6 months of checking anything and every thing I dropped both rear shocks and replaced the upper mounting bushings with MOOG K160011 shock mounting kits. $14.00 each from ROCKAUTO. This was a 100% fix and all the rear noise is gone. The old stock bushings looked great but no longer worked as they should. Total time for repair was 1 hour.

Had the same noise in my 04 g35x, loud "thump or knock" that was sorta dull sounding in the front passenger side and rear as well as squeaks when going over bumps at low speed. It's in the shop atm for repairs, but the mechanic replaced the suspension links and has said after a test drive the noises are gone. I pick it up in an hour. I'll reply after I drive it for a bit. Had a ton of stuff done so I'm expecting a damn near brand new and 100% back to full health g35x when I swipe my credit card.
