Looking to do a 5/16 spacer from Motodyne and possible MREV install. They suggest the copper spacer if there is snow where I live. Like to know your opinions on that. Also, is it worth it to do both mods or is the spacer enough. I am wondering if the added $439.00 is worth it and if it adds that much hp to justify the cost. I do not want one off of e-bay or a used one, I will stick with Motodyne, just looking for opinions on doing both mods as opposed to one. Thanks

Spacer adds quite a bit on the rev up motor. Adding the modified non rev up plenum gives the rev up motor more torque down low. Look for about 20-25 hp gain from the two combined.

Not to step on your toes red, but a spacer in a REVUP car will not do anything...only in a non REVUP engine will the spacer alone be effective. The MREV2 is basically the lower plenum from the non-REVUP engine that has been ported and polished. When installed on a REVUP engine, the airflow is maximized.

2005+ G35's are the REVUP engine design.

Get the MREV2 and spacer at the same time...The copper isn't worth the extra $$ IMO. And yes, it is worth the cash for the MREV2!!!!

See now I have heard all these mods only work on a rev up motor. Then again I am in medical field and am a novice to this. Thats why I ask you guys but now I have more questions than answers

This is whet you will want on your car... trust me.

Intake - I did JWT/Ztube5/16 spacer - I got the ISO Thermal (you do not need copper)MREV2 - together with the spacer you will notice a SIGNIFICANT increase in power. Do them at the same time.

Exhaust - I went with Stillen.

They are all worth the $$$.

Spacer on the rev up motor with a MREV 2 adds the most power, period.

Taken straight from motordyne's site:

MREV 2 Manifold:

The Motordyne MREV 2 Manifold is high-torque plenum mod designed for use on any VQ engine.

When used with a 5/16" spacer on the REVUP engine, every test to date shows MREV 2 Manifold will add a "minimum" of 15+ HP and 18+ TQ at 4500 RPM. MREV 2 Manifold is easily the single most effective bolt on modification available for the REVUP VQ engine.

Thanks guys, I will do it together and hide it from the wife. red, where did you get that pic of the gt-r. it's awesome. And thanks g-w, I already have the z-tube and jwt pop charger. I cannot wait to do this although I am a little apprehensive because i am not the most mechanically inclined person but the instructions from motodyne look pretty easy and straight forward

It's not hard...all it is is a bunch of bolts.

The only thing I can stress is for you to get a good torque wrench.

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BOLTS...THEY WILL SNAP AND YOU WILL REGRET IT

Just for clarification...

The rev-up motor is only on the 05+ 6mt G35s. Not on the automatics.

The MREV2 is a modified AND ported & polished lower collector from the automatic. The initial version only had a small modification, the new ones are supposedly significantly improved.

I have been told that getting the lower iso-thermal gasket really helps. It prevents heat from transfering from the motor to the plenum.
