G35 Smoked out head and tail lights Illegal?

I just got my G35, its silver and tinted all around, I think it would look pretty cool with some smoked out covers for the head and tail lights. I don't want them to be really dark, but a nice tinted feel would match well. My only concern is whether or not it is illegal in California. And if so, is there a certain percentage that you need to stay under? Any info would help - Thanks!

it's illegal here in Cali. Everything's illegal here.... we get no fun.... But I'ma get mine done once I get the 05 reverse lights on~ It seems as long as you obey the rules of the road and don't be too flashy they won't bug you about it. Most of my friends have done it and only time something came up about that was when they got pulled over for something else.

Ehh, I'm just looking at the vinyl covers so I could just take them off if necessary. Thanks for the input

Very clean looking. did you do that with spray tint or do you have black outs over your lights.????

It's actually a layer of tint, I kinda wish i went with the spray at times, because the peoplw trimed the tint to short and you see a little red from the light but other than that it looks great.
