g35 shifter problems

anyone know how to get a AT shifter out of a 03 g35 to remove the console?

under the part of the shifter that you put your hand on is a metallic piece that you can pop loose with a thumb nail or screwdriver and pull down on the shaft. hidden under that piece is a metal clip that will pull off and allow you to remove the top of the shifter. raise the console storage compartment lid and pull up on the rear of the console top. It should come loose.
