I know the shift boot comes off with even pressure upwards when holding it in the front, underneath the boot. Park with the engine OFF, and put it in 2nd or 4th so you have room to work.

U think you can make me a replica nismo shift knob http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...-2408Its pretty basic I just dont want to spend $130 on a shift knob, it doesn't need nismo on it. If all possible put s13_maJiK on on the side or top...But lemme know

If it's just the shift knob itself, you can just twist it off. Mind you, it takes a little bit of muscle. A good tip I keep hearing is that you can use a blowdryer to heat up the underlying adhesive, so it's easier.

I called my Infiniti dealershop, and they said it's safe to just twist it off. (If you read enough forums and stuff out on the net, there have been people who use clamps underneath the car to stabilize everything ... you really need not to though).

If you are replacing it with an aftermarket shift knob, make sure that you are pressing down AS YOU TWIST the new shift knob. Otherwise it'll come off one of these days whilst driving.Funny, but dangerous for obvious reasons.
