I have a new G35 and am getting somewhere between 12 and 14 mp in the city at best. I've also had 2 brake jobs in the 1st 1000 miles. Defective brakes. Anyone else having similar problems? Is your 2003 g35 mpg good or bad?

Bob welcome to our club!

I am sorry to hear you are not real satisfied right now.If your G35 owners dont see this post too soon use a NICO search for "g35" (red buttonon top right) and find them that way.You can then email them via their profile (unless they disabled that function). We have a couple of Coupe and Sedan owners and they all seem to love their cars so far.

Fred...:)

PS: Some states have reformulated gas, which will push milage below EPA figures, also winter gasoline is reformulated even further, the greater use of heaters/defrost etc can do the rest.

In addition to what Fred says, if you are in a very cold climate and let your car idle until it reaches operating temperature upon a cold start, then your mpg will be impacted. But your car will last longer if not driven when the engine transmission is far below operating temperature.

A lot of G35 owners had bad gas mileage for the first few tanks but it gradually improves. But it'll never be great... the car is optimized for performance, not economy. The gear ratio is very aggressive. (Notice the rpm is pretty high at cruising speeds)

What's wrong with the brakes? They are very sensitive but that will improve as the pads and rotors break in. They to are optimized for maximum performance, not everyday driving.

Blame the car magazines!
