I had the I30t in for a Intake Plenum Temperature sensor replacement. The heat would not blow hot air, unless the temp setting was on 85.

While having it fixed, I got a '03 G35 Sedan to drive.

BOY, Did I have FUN!!!

I didn't get to drive much, since I was at work all day (and still am).

The "+/-" Shifter is a lot of fun. The engine noise level is 'bout the same as the I30t, and the handling is very similar, except for the oversteer and torquesteer in the I30t. Lane changes, and ride/comfort is basically the same. I didn't get to push the car to its limits, but average driving, they are very similar. Even with 44,000 miles on the I30t, it feels tight as a drum. The G35 had 6,700 miles on it.

The power is amazingly smooth. I jumped a Porshce 928, getting on the interstate. He didn't see me coming, and barely saw me going. I am sure, if he wanted to, he could have caught me, but I think he was a little intimidated, when I blew past him, at 7,000 RPM, in second gear, and hit third, like a Vette.

The only gripe I had, was, it's a little small in the cabin, for a 6'3" 250# driver. The dash seems too close, even with the seat all the way back.

I hope I get one, next month, when I do the 45,000 mile servcie on the I.

Did you find the seat controls annoying? Did they dig in your thigh?

No, I did not notice them. They are recessed enough, where I didn't have a problem.

They are a little strange, being there, and I had to work to get the right setting. It seemed to me, that there were not enought adjustments available. I had to tilt the entire assembly, then tilt the seat back. There is no individual seat bottom adjustment, like in the Q. I moved the seat all the way back, and still wanted 1 to 2 more inches of leg room. I was comfortable, mind you.

Personally, I like the '94 Q's adjustments. I first didn't, but they are growing on me.

i know what you mean. It took me 20000 miles to find the right seat setting for my G. Wish it had a telescoping wheel, but oh well

I own both cars you drove, an '01 I30t and an '03 G35 Sedan with the sport suspension.

With the sport suspension, the I30t doesnt even come close, it is tooooooo floaty.

My I30t is much quieter.

The rev limiter for the G35 comes on at 6250RPMs, you wouldn't have made it to 7000RPM;)

I just spent 2 days in an I35 and two days in a G.

No comparison. While I love the interior of the I, and it has great power, the torque steer borders on dangerous IMO and is simply unstable on hard acceleration, especially though a turn.

I despise the switchgear on the center stack on the G, the non-linear accelerator and brakes are annoying as hell and the styling is already starting to look dated for some reason - But for pure driving excitement, it's a winner.

Wish the I35 was rear-drive... What a perfect car that would make.

Both cars have some real strenghts.

I love the I's interior and its a quick car, I dont think the torque steer is bad but not as huge a deal as many members say.

The G35, I like for its modern styling, edgy handling and its ability to attract dental hygienists in the 18-23 age bracket.
