Hi all... Ive had my G35 sedan 6spd for about 2 months now and am very frustrated with the lack of mechanical Limited Slip Diff. I would like to install an aftermarket LSD but am having problems finding one. I understand that NISMO will be making one (or already has one) but cant find where to get it.

Nissan/Infiniti dealers Parts Dept. says they dont carry the LSD as a seperate part and even if they did, the service dept. would not install it for me. Frustrating.

Any recommendations?

Andrew

Call Joe at1-888-216-5328

Ask for him specifcally, he is a long time NICO member and the parts manager of the largest Infiniti dealer in the country.

They are onboard with the InfintiRSpec parts (Infiniti equivalent to NISMO).

If he can't hook you up, no one can.

Fred...:)

PS: He gives big discounts for NICO guys too.

Probably a silly question, but can one of you guys enlighten me on what an LSD does for the car?

Galle - thanks for the tip - forgot about How Stuff Works. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

andrewrdc - keep us posted - sounds like fun.

6 speed sedan has a "brake LSD", right? Same as 350Z.

Hmm, I wonder if a Q45 diff would fit.

The 2004 6spd Sedans come with a clutch-type LSD, however the 2003's did not... frustrating! I am looking for a mechanical type (vs the electronic) because the electronic version just slows the car down by braking and/or cutting power when slip occurs. I want a true LSD which will allow me to power out of turns with full (2-wheel) grip.

Thanks for the responses... I will check out the above! Any other help or tips will be appreciated!

Im sorry... made a mistake in the above post...

The 2004 6spd Sedans come with a VISCOUS TYPE LSD, just like the g35 coupe and 350Z. The 2003 6spd Sedans (like mine), however, did not come from the factory with any kind of mechanical LSD.

Since I am not looking to stay with the stock tires and would like to maintain the handling balance of the car, I would like to stay with a Viscous LSD. Question is, how do I get my hands on one and who will install it. The dealer I talked to said they would not install it even if I could get one.

Any ideas?

Andrew

I think that there is one out there, but I'm not sure.
