Well my new Stillen exhaust arrived a week early which means this friday afternoon it will be put on.

Anyone know if the G35 Sedan has a rear center jack point?

I'm going to put the back end up on stands for the install, but I'm wondering if the rear center jack point is on the rear diff like with most, or in some crazy spot that I don't know of. Just want to make sure so I don't walk away with a twisted up frame along with my new exhaust.

I just used a floor jack immediately adjacent to where they say to use the factory jack, and then put the stand where the factory jack point is. Then I went to the other side and did the same thing.

When I place a 3 ton 6" hydraulic jack at the front jack points on a level concrete surface and raise each side to place ramps under the front wheels when changing oil, the rear wheels come off the ground also. That is how I rotate my tires also. I can't recall ever seeing rear jack points but I could be wrong? Check the owners manual.

Check out the lift points in the FSM for your car. From reviewing the 2005 and 2007 manuals in their "GI" sections, the jacking points are on the front crossmember, and on the differential in the rear.

I lift mine in the front, place two jackstands on the jacking points on the frame - with a hockey puck buffer between the stand and frame - and then lift the rear and place the stands (with buffers) at the rear frame points.

The jack stand adaptor referenced in the FSM DO NOT EXIST. I have checked with a couple of dealerships and contacted Kent Moore directly. They escalated my call a couple of levels to someone who checked to see if they were available in Japan. They are not... the adaptor was designed, but never produced. So the engineer at Kent Moore suggested the hockey pucks. I even tried cutting a groove in one of mine, but it's not easy to do - or necessary. They work great.

Oh, if you need your FSM, check http://www.phatg20.net - you'll need to download some freeware to decompress the .rar file.

Good luck!

Heath

I figured it would be the rear diff, I just haven't had a chance to check the manual yet with work and everything. I like the puck idea too, I'll be sure to use them when I lay the car down on the stands, thanks!

Since I'm in Canada, the shipping was a little high, but it came within 5 days of ordering it (even though he said "realistically around the 18th-20th" since it was on order from Stillen) so with everything it came to $1100 US ($1200 CAN). Its hard to belive, but its still cheaper then what I was quoted around here for a cheaper system (the one wasn't even stainless steel) so I'm a happy camper so far.

I'm more excited than anyone I think as I've been counting down the days like Christmas (only one more night at work and a quick nap, SWEET!) till the day I get to install it.
