Hi I have a 2004 G35 sedan and I would like to do something about the sound. I read that removing the resonator would not be very nice. I also read that putting a mid pipe from a coupe would be good. Any comments?

Thanks!!!

Welcome! I have heard the same thing and am in the market for a used coupe mid pipe. On the used side, it should be around $100.00 Everything G35 sells them new for $270.00.

Welcome to NICO!

Check out the classified section too. You can use the 03-07 coupe midpipe. I sold mine when I put on the Stillen CAT-back, and the guy said it was a big improvement in his sedan.

I just put a coupe midpipe on my G, picked it up from a local for $40

Sounds much meaner, but as far as HP dunno if there was much change. It did drop around 30 pounds though.

My plans are to put the HKS rear section on.

NOW, this is what I want someone to doPut on the midpipe from a 2005/2006 Sedan. That also sounds awesome. I heard it recently and loved it.

Yep. I called my local auto salvage. They could not sell them b/c of the cat on it (some stupid law). Try on ebay or a local performance shop or the classified sections here.

Do a saved search on ebay for one. It will send you an email as soon as its posted. I would say there is one on there every two weeks. I can post it up if I come across another one. Plus I may not keep mine. As much as I love performance and appreciate a great sounding exhaust, I don't know if this will be too loud for my tastes on this car.

I'll let you know. It'll be a week or two before I get it and have time to install.

Tell them that isn't a CAT on the midpipe, its a resonator. (which it is...)

LOL.. I have it done on my 06 sedan and it is great. I have the 6mt so i really get the full use out of the mid pipe.

It is a little louder than when it is applyed to the coupe. At idle you don't hear the coupes sound but you hear the sedan with the coupe pipe. I love it.

Def much meaner.

I paid i think 50 bux from a local on ebay. He lived like 5 min from my house so i bought it and put it in that night... Like 3am lol

I love the coupe midpipe.

I'm gonna finish the exhaust off with HKS rear section.

I'll post some sound clips when i finish it.
