I've had only small problems from my 2004 but they fixed it right away and they gave me great service and a great loaner car to play around with. I think the maintenance costs are just as a regular car as long as you service it yourself. I think it all comes down to what you are looking for. It doesn't have a push you back into your seat feel like a turbo car does. It drives real smooth and I love the looks I always get. I still have my project 240sx car and everytime I switch into my G35 I just smile and enjoy it even more. You get great power with a classy yet sporty too.WRXXX wrote:Hi
I m thinking about buying an '06 G35C. Wondering how's the reliability? Are the maintenance costs high?
I currently hv a WRX. I absolutely love the car but my lease is up soon. The car give me no problems what so ever. As a matter of fact, I am thinking of either getting a '06 STI or G35C. What do u guys think?
I agree with you! If you have a dealer do your preventive maintance, then of course it will be more expensive! But, you can save some cash if you do your own work on the simple stuff. For example, an oil change cost about $150 at a dealer, but you can do it for a fraction of the price, and as long as you provide recepts-the warranty will be honored. Now, to do it right, you should get a service manual (avaliable online for under $20), and follow the recomended maintance "tracks".J-Owner wrote:Maintenance at the dealer or anywhere for things you can't do yourself gets pricey.
Wow! Your dealer really rips you off.joe603 wrote:For example, an oil change cost about $150 at a dealer,
That is good!joe603 wrote:The $150 is for a preventive maintenance check, along with the oil change. If you just do the oil change its much cheaper.
Point. They do use different offsets on the Coupe. I'd not rotate under those circumstances ... just replace the tires when the tread is down on any given axle.joe603 wrote: Unfortunately, the G35 coupe tires cannot be rotated unless they are removed from the rims...
Yes, but the problem is that they do not carry the 0W-40 that I now like to use. 5W-30 and 10W-30 is relatively easy to find there!nnkfws333 wrote:I have bought 5 quarts of Mobil 1 at Wal mart for $20 =)
I prefer to use Royal Purple; gave me no problems in my last car. Have you considerd using 10W-40? 0-40 seems to be a wide range...szhosain wrote:Yes, but the problem is that they do not carry the 0W-40 that I now like to use. 5W-30 and 10W-30 is relatively easy to find there!
