I was wondering what are the differences between 2003-2005 G35 Coupe's? If any?

How are the G35(Coupe)'s Maintainence? Is it bad? or good?

Does it cost as much as BMW's Maintainenance cost? or a lot cheaper?

Would I have to bring it to the dealership/car shop regularly for maintainence?

How reliable is the car/engine itself? Would I be able to go 100k+ without having any problems? Or will the car be totally useless over 100k?

Is there anything I should be looking at especially when picking out a G35(coupe)??

Also how do you people like the G35 coupe so far?

thxthx

Welcome aboard!

03-05 are virtually identical, with the exception of some minor things you'd never notice.

Maintenance is no different than any other car, it requires the same upkeep as any modern vehicle.

Definitely less than a comparable BMW of the same year. Plus, you get a new Sedan for a loaner.

Maintenance at the dealer? Depends - How handy are you?

Reliability is good, seems to be solid. Mine's at 48K miles with no major issues. THe 6MT with Brembos had a few more issues, but that's just a function of it being a higher-performance setup. ALL modern cars are good beyond 100K miles... The VQ35DE is a phenomenal motor. G35 was MT Car of the Year in 03, and the VQ has been on the "Top 10 Motors" list for 12 straight years.

Look for regular maintenance perfomed on time. Nothing really to do, other than run a CarFax.

I LOOOOVE my G35 Coupe!!!

Thanks, that just actually answered one of my big concerns...thank god. I was gonna say if this is going to cost me as much as it would to maintain a bmw, then I would be upset.

Thanks for answering! ^^ and for the welcome =)

Im not really that handy haha, would maintainence cost @ Infiniti dealership be significantly less than BMW's?

Yeah Im looking for something thats fairly reliable. That would last me a few years.

Keep it coming, the more input the better!

A lot of the maintenance can be done at home, and we can walk you through it.

Keep in mind, oil changes and regular fluid changes are the single-most important thing you can do for longevity, and if you can't do those, then take the bus.

Brakes are a little pricey on the G, but there are less-expensive options there as well.

I'd HIGHLY recommend an aftermarket extended warranty, you can read about it in our Finance / Insurance / Warranty forum.

As Greg said, the brakes tend to be pricey, particularly the Brembos. The rotors tend to be quite soft, especially given the hefty price tag. The pads aren't bad, but still relatively expensive. I've had some pretty good results from the Hawk HPS myself.

OH YEAH FORGET ABOUT THIS QUESTION!!!

Is it crucial to buy a G35(coupe) with Warranty? or does it really matter? cause for a BMW car, you HAVE to buy it with warranty or else its gonna be quite costly.

Also how long is the average warranty for the G35 last? and only the original owner can get Extended warranty, correct?

Like an insurance policy, you have to weigh the risk against the cost of the warranty itself. If nothing breaks down during the warranty period, you will have paid for a warranty that was never used.

As far as extended warranties, it depends on the warrantor. they will have limitations on what kind of coverage is available to you depending on the mileage and perhaps the age of the vehicle.

You can check out one of our sponsors, http://www.nissanextendedwarra....html, to get a better idea about the qualifications. There may be other companies out there that can accomodate risks that our sponsor may not as well.

Welcome to NICO!! I see you have been looked after already.

So I'll throw my 2 cents in.

G35 = NO REGRETS!

But is it Crucial to buy a G35 with warranty? or does it not matter?

Take BMW for instance, if you don't have warranty. It will cost you an arm and a leg to get stuff done and also minor stuff. BMW has regulared maintainence checks etc and inspections. So BMW Maintainence is crucial.

Was wondering if the G35 was the same? or it doesn't matter if you have it or not?

The G35 has different maintenance schedules to consider. However, as long as you change the oil, and watch the other fluids, you should be ok. I'm taking my coupe in at 20k to have the dealer check out the things I can't (brakes, transmission, rear-end, computer).

To answer your questions about BMW, from what I understand, they have a very good maintenance set-up. You don't pay for anything on a new BMW...but the car is at a premium price to compensate. The G35, like any new vehicle, should be checked out by a professional mechanic at regular intervals of mileage 20k, 40k, 60k...etc., depending on how you drive (highway miles can be a different rate 20k, 60k, 90k).

At the end of the day it's up to the owner to decide what's best for their car.
