So i have a 2004 Infinti G35x. I have had some bad fuel mileage after I put some 87 octane in at a 7/11 because they were out of 93, and 89. I have put a few tanks of 93 in and run them down but still get 20mpg highway. Before i put the 87 in I was getting like 24. Any advice on how to revert this.

Thanks

Perhaps its time to trade up to a 2012 :)

I would disconnect the battery to reset the ECU. This should force the car to "relearn"...

Unless you do all highway, don't expect to get that high for MPGs. I had a 2009 G37 and got around 20.

You may need a tune up, a lot of things can contribute to a decline in gas mileage. These are Nissan engines, you don't need to put 93 in them. The premium fuel will provide little no difference in performance or mileage. Just a difference in fuel cost.

For the models that have the premium fuel requirement, the ECU will adjust for lower octane...you will have less HP. Agree with you on the tune up.

No mention on how often the air filter gets changed

+1

if you over 80k miles... might be time for spark plugs if you havent already. I agree yank the battery for a couple minutes and let the engine relearn 93 gas and dont forget about that air filter.

On my G37 i get high teens in the city and high 20s on the highway in MPG. So please only expect decent MPG with a G, its a sports car.
