last week my heater started blowing cold air (this happened in one drive) and my car overheated so i assumed air was in the lines, brought it back home and bleed it refilled coolant and topped off my radiator with water. everything was fine till the other day was driving back home and the thermostat went all the way hot and steam or smoke started coming out from my engine bay. popped the hood and saw water/coolant all over radiator top and fans. next day checked the engine while it was cold, still had coolant, radiator was empty due to the overflow, looked at my heads and I have some oil res. built up on the sides, seeing that i assumed it could only be a blown gasket. I turned on my car for about 10 minutes to see if it would over heat again and before my thermostat could move smoke came from nearest to my windshield/back of the engine. Also i have not seen white smoke come out of my exhaust indicating my head gaskets are blown but I have smelled a hot burning oil/ish smell while my heater is on when my car was running perfectly fine, i assume its was just the heater seeing how other forums have said the same thing. Anyone have any suggestions on my problem here?

First I would assume you have at least a head gasket issue if you actively have leakage. You could also have a clogged radiator or some issue with the water pump or thermostat. Blowing cold air simply means you didn't have enough pressure or fluid in the system to circulate through the heater core.

i actually found the problem. i have a crack in the radiator but it doesn't leak till the car gets to operating temp. then when it all leaks out it overheats. but the burning smell is a blown gasket on my valve cover that has oil dripping onto my exhaust which is making it smoke. hate car problems. thank you for your advise though. no more drifting and hallin a** till it's fixed....

Looks like you avoided a bullet by not driving the car until the HG blew. Once of my X's simply kept driving until she was home because she didn't feel like pulling over. Ugh.
