Can the 03 G35 that has the latch on the trunk's lid be switched for a trunk lid that doesn't have a latch and are they the ones that don't have hid's and have the manual fan. it's the only one close that's silver with black leather.

Dunno about the trunk lid, but I'd say look for a coupe that came stock with the 18" wheels. Even without the Brembo's, (Brembo's weren't available in the autotragic) the automatics with 18's (wheel and tire package) have a VLSD rear end. That in itself will help a lot to transfer the power to the pavement. I know that the sedan is a "faster" car, but if you're buying a sports car, why have 4 doors. Plus the aftermarket parts available for the coupe outnumber the sedan. If you plan on doing suspension, or want a dual exhaust, you're easier off with the coupe.

I want a coupe but ill only have one car so I have to get a sedan I don't think I could drive a 2dr everyday though. After I pay the sedan off Ill probably get a coupe I drove one for an hour with my cousin when he worked at carmax. Also is there a fix for the brakes on the sedan iv'e been reading up on on them. Just replace with high quality aftermarket performance rotors and pads.

Uhhhh, get the coupe anyway, it has 4 seats... I only had my car filled once or twice in a full year now... You NEED a coupe... I'm planning to trade on a 6mt coupe 2005 + in the next few weeks or so.

I think the trunks are interchangeable, but I'm not sure. The lights on the early 03 sedans look different than newer sedans.

I would personally stay away from the G35 sedans with the trunk handle like the plague. If you think about it, those were the very first production for that line. Even earlier than the G coupes (released a few months later). They probably have more design flaws than any (based on my logic).

The coupe is very sexy, but room is a huge issue. I miss having the access of rear doors and a real trunk.

I can't afford a newer sedan. I got my coupe for around 22k out the door. A newer sedan would cost me $25k-$30k.

the maxima wasnt even an option for me because it wasn't RWD or AWD.

I would get a g35 over a maxima. like nate said, a better tuned engine and rwd.
If he is looking to mod the car...M45 is definitely not the way to go, for the 06+ there are a few exhaust mods and intakes available, but for the 03 - 04 almost nothing unless you want to buy JDM.

You should be able to find a 03 sedan for about 15k. I see them around here alot. I have alot of fun with mine. Surprises the hell out of alot of people.
As someone who was in the market very recently (helped my gf buy her 06 literally a week ago), I would suggest looking at 05s if your budget is 15K. You can find nice ones within reasonable miles for that budget.

There is no reason to look at 03s or even 04s with that budget and then spend money to upgrade brakes, rotors, etc.

I know us owners/enthusiasts like to see value stay up, but it would be a disservice to you in such a buyers' market...

add another G to all those other votes. I love my G37 although i've never really compared it head to head with a g35 4 door or the coupe, its pretty much in the same class so from my experience. G all the way especially over the maxima
