Does anyone know if there's an O-Ring or a gasket that goes between the engine block and where the metal piece is that the oil return line/oil filter screws on for my 2003 G35 Sedan 6MT?

So I am looking online and it appears to be called an "oil cooler seal".

I need to spend more time in the other threads, haven't seen this one. I'm supposed to be the G35 forum EMT!!!Anyway, if thats where your leak is, yes there is a gasket behind the cooler. Part number B1304-43U00Buy one. Its $5. Or maybe its covered under warranty. 7 years 70,000 miles, I think it falls under powertrain. If not, its simple to replace, just dont do it when the car is hot, and have something to plug the hoses so you don't leak everywhere. Its best to do it during an oil change, when the oil is drained from the car. That way, you can replace the filter and just have that out of the way..

It turned out to just be the O-Ring between the oil cooler and the engine block, thank goodness. They replaced the oil pan gasket b/c it did look like it was leaking there... it cost 140$ altogether. Such a relief! I am surprised that would be the first thing to leak oil, knock on wood!

Wow. I missed this thread too.

First oil leak I have heard of. That gasket is more likely to leak than anything else...since the cars just don't leak oil!!! It probably got damaged/loosened a little during an oil change.

At least its an easy/cheap fix.

I am new to G35 forum as well. Even though I have had my G-35 for 135k miles. I just checked my oil after smell of burning oil. I was down a quart after 2,000 miles. Looks like most of the oil is coming from around the oil filter, according to the inside of the plastic tray. Is the oil cooler hard to take off ?

Not at all. Just remove the threaded bolt and the cooler pops off.
