Awesome, so what brought you to this conclusion?
I would not have thought of that on a repo. I have had my arse kicked the first time I pulled a signal plate on an early model Murano and didn't index it. It makes sense given the detection logic required to start needs to see the cam and crank angles in correct timing. Sometimes (if it's more than 1 hole off) it may throw a CKP sensor dtc.
Damn Moto- I've been following this one for a while. Good luck with you G you've earned some time driving it now that you have taken the whole thing apart. Keep in touch if you've got any other concerns or questions.
Well After going over everything 4 or 5 times I thought I had to be missing somthing simple. So I got on the phone and started calling a fe z car specific shops to just get a few new Ideas. I got ahold of Jeremy at Altered Atmosphere and he was nice enough to spend a good solid 15min on the phone with me even though I havent bought anything from them. I will now though. He breifly mensioned how new guys in the shop would try to impress by doing a clutch job in under 3 hours but were baffled when the car wouldent start. The flywheel offby one bolt hole evertime was the cause.
So I got my scope back out and looked at pin 13,14,33. Crank, cam phase 1 and 2. And it looked close but the phase angles in the second and third row never lined up perfect in the crank gap in the top row. Thats all it took to kill spark. So I had the trans down in about 20 min. Confirmed off by one hole.
Here is a shot of the scope.<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From G35</td></tr></table>
