I recently purchased a 2004 G35 Coupe and can not get the navigation system to calculate a route. I get an error message when I select an address or nearby point of interest - "route was not succesfully calculated." Everything else seems to be working, map display, where am I, listing of addresses and POI's, and even the green status bar is visible (and moving) while the nav system is "trying" to calculate the route.

I have reviewed the navigation system manual but could not seem to find the issue and fix. I feel like this is a trival matter and I am overlooking something simple but have not had any luck yet. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a situation for the dealer. I have never had that message and the thing is pretty simple to operate so it sounds more like a problem with the system than user error.

Sorry I don't have a better answer but I would have the dealer check it. I hope you are within your warranty because that thing gets pricy quick.

I had a system connector go out last August on my '05 and the screen wouldn't rise out of the dash. That stupid part caused them to replace the whole screen and mechanism to the tune of $1700, which I was glad it was covered under warranty.

Just the price to pay for cutting edge technology I guess. If you take it to a dealer please post the solution as the rest of us with Nav systems would love to know the problem for any future reference.

Thanks,Brandon

Brandon - Thanks for the info and recommendation. I called the Infiniti Help Desk and worked with them for several minutes. Finally the Analyst indicated he would have to turn the problem over to the Engineering team for further analysis and resolution. Seems I have them stumped at the moment. Will keep the forum posted on the results. I believe I will end up taking the car into the Dealership for the final fix. And yes the car is still under warranty. Stewart

I do have the Engineering team stumped. Seems like they think it is a hardware issue so I have an appointment set up with the Dealer to take the car in. Hopefully this will be a quick fix but it will be what it will be. Just thankful it is under warranty.

Just to follow up on the status of my navigation problem. Seems like I live in an area that will not allow the system to calculate directions. We live in a gated community and even though the roads show up on the display, it will not calculate a route. Go outside the community and it works fine. Took me a while to figure this out but now all is well.
