Perhaps someone can explain this to me. I have seen around here, after doing some searches, that people say that the MREV2 isn't for, or doesn't work on the 03-04's non rev-up motor. But I got an email from Tony Colette with Motordyne and he says that it will work with the 03-04's just as well as with the 05+'s. And can be used with the spacers as well. So my question is why do people say it doesn't? Is this cause they just don't think it's worth it, or they don't really know or something? I'll post some dyno pics he sent me later.

I think the reason they say it won't work is because it won't work as well as coupling it to a rev-up engine.

The rev-up engine has longer intake runners for peak horsepower but, from what I've read, it sacrafices some torque as a result. The mrev2 improves the peak torque on the rev-up engines and the spacer makes up for the shorter intake runners.

Essentially the mrev2 is a compromise (torque for peak HP) and the spacer "fixes" that compromise so that you can have the best of both worlds.

Did Tony tell you what type of numbers to expect from the mrev2 on the 03-04 engines?

The dyno charts he sent me were done on an 04 sedan, and he also sent me a link to a forum with more info on it, link and pics below.

from what iv'e read here, the mrev2 is basically the lower plenum of a non-rev engine but "port and polished" and should go well with a 5/16 spacer...i could be wrong but i remember reading it somewhere...

The MREV 2 will not give you anywhere near the gains as it will on the REV UP motor. The MREV 2 is just a non rev up lower plenum, as that has already been said. You may see a couple horsepower from this on a non rev up motor. Not worth the money, just get a spacer and be done.

Tony is just looking to make a quick buck IMO ... stick with just a spacer.

Tony seems like a pretty awesome guy, but I wouldn't say that the MREV2 works just as well on the 1st gens. Think about it this way. It's like porting and polishing your existing lower collector. The runner length situation is more of an issue with the Rev-up engines to maximize torque and HP.
