Hey,Does any one know of a way to speed up the shifts in the manumatic mode of the auto trans? I have a 2003 4dr auto and to get it to shift at redline I have to hit the shifter at about 4 grand... I know some cars you can buy a special chip just for the transmission to spead up shifts (passats and jettas). Is there anything like this for the G?

Thanks,Aaron

yes!!! i know!

you send in your valve body to stillen and they will machine down your trans valve body to get you crisper, quiker shifts. this is the only way. its about $700 and you must use your own valve body. there is NO core program. takes about 3 days total before you get it back in your hands after shipping.

Thanks!Did you have this done? If so, a little breakdown on the process would be cool. How hard is it to do? Do you have to drop the trans? how much did it improve your shifts?

If anyone else has had this done, please reply as well.

Thanks againA

I'm wondering if this is a '03 problem. I take my '05 up to 6200 before i shift and it hits hard and quick. i wonder if you can take it to infiniti and have them set it up like the new automatic's.

They probably re-did it for 05... Does any one have an 04? is it fast or slow? I think I found a web-site that has a totaled 04

more importantly is the 05 valve trans body exchangeable with the 03?

Thats bizarre, I have an 03 350GT and it shifts without delay everytime, even at high revs, its a sweet *** transmission.

Are the trannys the same in the 350GT to the G35s? I'm still trying to suss out what specific differences, if any, there are between the models.

Well I know I can shift at high revs no problems and low rpm's as well but the problem is that sometimes the lag happens and it was interesting to hear someone else experiencing the same symptoms.

look. the 350gt and the g35 are the 'same' care. the only diff is the US regulations from the feds on emmisions. they are tunned down for the us. no biggy. a lil tweeking and its back. a simple ecu flash. you cannot take your car to the dealer and have them make it shift faster. the shifts are controled by the the valve body. you have to actuly remove and machine down the valves. (cut away metal) sorry boys. if you want quiker shifts this is how....

To bad they don't make shift kits...I did one on my 97 LT1 F-body. Even with that, I had to take off the valve body and replace springs and install a new valve body gasket to re-route the fluids. Was a pain in the butt! (stupid little check balls!)

If you use a chip or a piggyback device to fool the ECM into changing firmness, you run the risk of hosing your transmission.

I have an '04 and it's a little slow when upshifting. Downshifting is pretty quick.

Can you describe how it changed the car? Does it shift faster in manual mode?
