Good day all, I'm new to the site as I just purchased a 04 g35 coupe last week. Sorry if I'm re posting but I couldn't find anything about this in search. When ever I go for a ride longer than a half hour, the tire pressure light comes on. I checked all the tires and they're at 35 psi. Once I turn off the car and turn it back on it goes away. This is kinda strange because the tire pressure should go up after driving you would think. The car does have aftermarket rims on it... 20's and the back's are wider than the front's. Would that cause any problems?

The older TPMS are a bit crazy at times. Never heard of this exact problem though. Usually they just cut on when the temp drops the first time in the year.

Did you get 35psi with the tires cold or when the light comes on (hot)?

That was hot, I read them again with a better gauge and they were at 32ish. So I put them to 38, would the warning light turn on at that high of a pressure?

Set them at 32 cold and see if that does not solve the problem. When tires get hot the psi goes up.

The problem is a battery is going low in one of them. Mine does the same thing on a long trip and I know the tires are properly inflated.

That makes good sense. Does that mean I need a whole new sensor or can the battery be changed? Thanks for your help!

I'm sure the battery can be changed, but trouble shooting which one will have to be done at the dealership.

Irecently got rid of my 06G35 and during the almost 7 years I went thru 6 TPMS sensors. Most were covered under warranty.

Have the dealer check them and replace any defective ones or perhaps replace all of them.

Batteries cannot be changed.
The tire pressure sensors are sealed inside the case with epoxy.
The sensors also need to be paired to the correct wheel.
Some vehicles have sensors in the spare.
They transmit an RF signal in the UHF band (312mz) and any interference in the vehicle such as car chargers can prevent the RF signal from reaching the antenna behind the glove box which then sends the signal to the ECU
