Looking to change the transmission fluid with Amsoil ATF which is approved for use with Jmatic required trans.

Does the pan need to come off and have seals replaced in order to change out the fluid? Any special tools needed. Thanks.

DOH..newb should have placed it in the Infiniti Mechanic section..My apologies. Can someone move my topic or should I post again in the other section? Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that there is a drain plug for the transmission on the G. All you should need to do is pull that to drain it. Keep in mind that will not get all of the fluid. You will need to drop the pan and re-seal it in order to get most of the fluid out. You will also have fluid still trapped in the lines.

Are you looking to change all the fluid over to the Amsoil fluid? If so a drain and refill or the re-seal of the pan get anywhere near what you'd be looking for. What you would have to do is flush it using the Amsoil if you can have access to a machine that sucks and pulls the fluid.

The proper machine doesn't suck and pull! It uses the AT internal pump and a two chamber bladder to let the AT do all the pumping and refilling drop by drop.
